Skull Leader
I would remind our fairly inactive board member (14 posts in 2 years, and at least two of those are about Agent One???) that there are also women on this board. You've been here long enough to figure that one out. If you're totally gay for A1, it's ok to admit to it... several others have in the past. Just watch out, he fornicates with doorknobs in his spare time... Oh yeah, this thread is about Hurricane Katrina, isn't it? So I should post something constructive: It sucked worse than anything has ever sucked before... one of my uncles in Biloxi has part of a casino sitting on top of his house right now (fortunately he and his wife had the good sense to leave BEFORE the beau-rivage decided to move inland...) oh, and Anna Ohura is now my girlfriend. Have a nice day.
Agent ONE
Said the guy with the most panziest avatar EVER... By the way bitch, the avatar is me. 327082 Doesn't suprise me that you'd be posting bodyshots of yourself on a forum full of guys. 327085 Considering how perfectly beautiful my body is, why not? I see my physique as not just sympily a sex icon for women around the world, but as a beacon for all mankind to see and be inspired. I could name 20 Macross Worlders who I have encouraged to go back to the gym.

Majestic
Say, it's another Agent ONE ego-fest thread, what a surprise. See DSM-IV - 301.81 Narcissistic Personality Disorder. I'm thinking compensatory. Summary: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narcissistic_...nality_disorder People with narcissistic defenses are either "classic" (meet five of the nine diagnostic criteria included in the DSM), or they are "compensatory" (their narcissism compensates for deepset feelings of inferiority and lack of self-worth). bsu legato
Even better, my buddy Majestic chimes in! Now all we need is a snide comment about "ditto head Lucas apologists" and this thread is complete!
reddsun1
"1. Feels grandiose and self-important (e.g., exaggerates accomplishments, talents, skills, contacts, and personality traits to the point of lying, demands to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements); 2. Is obsessed with fantasies of unlimited success, fame, fearsome power or omnipotence, unequalled brilliance (the cerebral narcissist), bodily beauty or sexual performance (the somatic narcissist), or ideal, everlasting, all-conquering love or passion; 3. Firmly convinced that they are unique and, being special, can only be understood by, should only be treated by, or associate with, other special or unique, or high-status people (or institutions); 4. Requires excessive admiration, adulation, attention and affirmation — or, failing that, wishes to be feared and to be notorious (narcissistic supply); 5. Feels entitled. Demands automatic and full compliance with their unreasonable expectations for special and favorable priority treatment. 6. Is "interpersonally exploitative", i.e., uses others to achieve their own ends; 7. Devoid of empathy. Is unable or unwilling to identify with, acknowledge, or accept the feelings, needs, preferences, priorities, and choices of others; 8. Constantly envious of others and seeks to hurt or destroy the objects of their frustration. Suffers from persecutory (paranoid) delusions stemming from a belief that others are envious of them and are likely to act similarly; 9. Behaves arrogantly and haughtily. Feels superior, omnipotent, omniscient, invincible, immune, "above the law", and omnipresent (magical thinking). Rages when frustrated, contradicted, or confronted by people they consider inferior to themselves and unworthy." You sure these are the diagnostic criteria for a personality disorder, or aren't they just the job requirements/ideal traits for a position as CEO of just about any corporation in America today? Agent ONE
Say, it's another Agent ONE ego-fest thread, what a surprise.See DSM-IV - 301.81 Narcissistic Personality Disorder. HAHA! Why don't you post the factors? Diagnostic CriteriaA pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following: 1. has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements) 2. is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love 3. believes that he or she is "special" and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions) 4. requires excessive admiration 5. has a sense of entitlement, i.e., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations 6. is interpersonally exploitative, i.e., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends 7. lacks empathy: is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others 8. is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him or her 9. shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes So I have to meet 5 of the 9!? I meet one of them: 1: I never exaggerate my greatness, its all the real deal. 2: I don't have fantasies of unlimited success... I want it, but I can only try my hardest. If it sin't in the cards I am cool with it. 3: If I thought I was special I wouldn't converse with obvious tards like you. 4: I don't require it at all. In fact most people around here hate me, and I love it. 5: I don't think I am entitled to anything, thats liberals, they always think they are supposed to get a free lunch. 6: I NEVER take advantage of people. I usually help whoever I can. 7: Well I am a broke kid who started a company in January... I can empathize with anyone who works for a living. 8: I envy nobody. I admire Reagan, and Schwarzenegger and hope to be as great as they are someday. 9: Yep, thats me. Well, once again, I am awesome. Your psycho-analysis has failed. I think the only solution to your problems is to watch the prequels till you understand how much they rock. Untill then, you will be a crying little girlie man. Pat Payne
Either way, it was probably a nasty thing to be on the recieving end of, and I think we can all guess at why it was adopted for a political term. 327077 IIRC, the word "partisan" I'd always believed came from the Partisans, pro-Communist resistance fighters in Yugoslavia during World War Two, although they probably did pick up the name from the weapon... Sumdumgai
It's because of untrained people who go looking through criteria for diagnosing personality disorders, that treatment is so difficult for real professionally trained psychologists. Besides psychoanalysis hasn't been scientifically proven to work. It's outdated crap, unless you want to learn what caused your problems (rather than actually treating them). Hell you can't even deal with psychotics. Not with traditional psychoanalysis annyway. Prequal trilogy rocks. Floods suck.
