Myersjessee Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Hey all! I just wanted to share some pictures of Captain America's latest work. A while back I started bugging him about mastering a Raptor from the new BSG for me. After much arm twisting John relented to take on the project. (he knew, I think, I was not going to stop bugging him! ) She will be in 1/24th scale (scale with my TOS Studio Viper) with a fully detailed cockpit, pilots, the works. These are the latest pictures and I thought some of the BSG fans would enjoy her. She is still about a month away from completion, but the Captains work always floors me! Such talent!!!! Hope you like! http://home.comcast.net/~emyers20/RCN/Rapt...ress/82005a.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~emyers20/RCN/Rapt...ress/82005b.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~emyers20/RCN/Rapt...ress/82005c.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~emyers20/RCN/Rapt...ress/82005d.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~emyers20/RCN/Rapt...ress/82005g.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~emyers20/RCN/Rapt...ress/82005j.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~emyers20/RCN/Rapt...ress/82005l.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~emyers20/RCN/Rapt...ress/82005m.jpg Quote
the white drew carey Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 You know what floors me? The fact that Moscato got so tired of you bugging him for one that he whipped one of these puppies out just to shut you up. The man's skill amazes me. I wish I had the ability to do something like that just because a friend wanted one. Wow. I still cry when I think of the Legioss project. HG really stabbed themselves in the foot when they effectively killed that one. Quote
EXO Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Wow! I thought I was the only one that love the Raptor. I actually prefer it over the Vipers. Awesome work. Quote
wwwmwww Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 WOW!!! One of these days I have to hit him up for a model of the LandMaster. But I'm also hoping to someday see his Legioss completed (even if just for himself). And then I want to see a Tread built for it. Ok... I'm dreaming again. No need to be in a rush to wake me up guys, Carl Quote
Knight26 Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Dag but that is nice, too bad it's delaying the 1:48 VF-1D conversion though, lol. Seriously that is beautiful, I hope he sends it to production company and can get it liscenced, make some money on it, he deserves it. Quote
EXO Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Where'd you guys get schematics for this? Was there blueprints available or just from watching the show? Quote
cobywan Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Jesse got the orthogravic renderings from a Zoic guy and I made the blueprints and plotted out the flats for the wings. John did all of the figuring out from there. A LOT of figuring out. That interior really floored me. I had no idea that he was holding back on us for so long. Quote
sktchrtst2002 Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Very, very nice! Does this talented guy have an online album of other works he's done? Quote
captain america Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 There's a link to my website in my sig... Though admittedly, my site is horribly, HORRIBLY out-of-date Quote

He always does that...I always notice his builds go like this: 1st update - oh...yeah...neat idea 2nd update - hoo-humm...looks like chunks of that funky balsa he uses and some styrene.. 3rd update - yeah...I can kinda see the shape...neat 4th update (queue eairy music from the heavens and beams of sunshine! ) Thanks again for the work with the blueprints Coby! It would not have been possible without you!!!! (now if only I could get Anasazi to agree to do decals!! ) Quote
fulcy Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 So this is what he's been working on, instead of the 1D conversion kit! Quote
Graham Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Nice Raptor, but why does Captain America looks like a Zombie in his avatar? Graham Quote
Golden Arms Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Great work Cap!!! Once its finished, the only thing it will need are Helo and Boomer figures. Quote
sabretooth Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 well when you play with that much sculpey it kinda does things to you..... Quote
Yohsho Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 OMG the detail, Congratulations very nice work. Quote
captain america Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 She should be done in less than a month; just a few small bits left to sculpt. Quote
