Guppy Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 not bad.. but I've been bitten by Kaiyodo too many times. I think every figure I have by them has broken. Assuming the above is Kaiyodo. If it IS chogokin, who do I give my money to??? Quote
Guppy Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Damn... I cant see the picture.Buuu 322235 What's wrong with your internet? I think China must be cracking down on 'fun.' Quote
EXO Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Yeah, if it's chogokin then it's gonna be on my list. Quote
Eternal_D Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 where'd you get the picture? maybe the source has got more info on it. looks pretty cool. but yah...the other armored core figs pretty much suck in paint app and sturdiness. Quote
Flaming Guantlet Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 GIMME CREST PARTS! GIMME CREST PARTS! GIMME CREST PARTS! (see avatar) Quote
Valkyrie Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Believe it or not, it's a Kotobukiya 1/72 injection kit! There's a page on it in the new Dengeki Hobby. It looks pretty damn cool! I haven't seen a release date on it, but it'll be selling for Y2,940 Quote
wolfx Posted August 23, 2005 Author Posted August 23, 2005 Sorry. Got it off 2chan. So know nuts about it. Quote
Eternal_D Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 wow, cool, a model kit? that should be interesting...I might pick that up. Quote
Akilae Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 dratz... I was really looking forward to a Chogokin AC... BTW, that's a really puny looking Karasawa Quote
Druna Skass Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 I really wish I had picked up that Zio Matrix one when AC2 came out... Quote

I was really looking forward to a Chogokin AC...BTW, that's a really puny looking Karasawa 322566 Me too and what sawa? I don't see no sawa. Thats a linear rifle your lookin at. But here is the real sawa. I'll let you judge its apperance for yourself. Quote
wolfx Posted August 24, 2005 Author Posted August 24, 2005 Another photo. I say it just looks sweet! Quote
wolfx Posted September 3, 2005 Author Posted September 3, 2005 Its out on HLJ!!! http://www.hlj.com/product/KBYVI-01 Damn it looks hot! Quote
Commander McBride Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 I still think someone needs to make seperately available parts for ACs. Maybe sell it as sets, like one with a variety of core kits, one with legs and arms, etc, maybe two types from each major mfg. (More for weapons, heads, etc) Sorta loses the AC spirit when you're just buying a pre-set AC. Quote
Guppy Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 that things smells fragile to me. I lost the AC spirit after buying 3 of the kaiyodo figures and they all broke. And no I wasn't using them as baseballs or anything! Quote

And no I wasn't using them as baseballs or anything! 325631 Yeah those Gundam kits just fall apart. There's no way a model kit will be as sturdy as the action figures were. Quote
rnurmin Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 You know, I wonder why they don't make these things transform... The Suit design looks cool Quote
cobywan Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 I got mine yesterday. It's a VERY nice model kit. These small companies are really starting to give Bandai a run for thier money. I really wish I had time to work on it. Quote
wolfx Posted December 23, 2005 Author Posted December 23, 2005 Kotobukiya is in no way small. But just to be sure, are we talking about this one? http://www.hlj.com/product/KBYVI-01 There's only 1 model so far right? Or is there only one kinda mecha in Armored core? They all look the same to me. And I realise there are some optional parts too. What parts come with the base kit then? http://www.hlj.com/product/KBYAW-01 http://www.hlj.com/product/KBYAW-02 http://www.hlj.com/product/KBYAW-03 Quote
rikiryou Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 The thing with Armored Core is that there is no single mecha, you actually put together any part to form the frame. Different heads, arms, bodies, and legs which you can purchase and swap for optimum performance in the games. Judging from the joints on the kit though, it might be possible to swap with other parts from other models. But that's just a hunch anyway. http://www.geocities.jp/hetare_d_max/galle...E_C01-GAEA.html <-- base kit. http://www.geocities.jp/hetare_d_max/galle...nit001_003.html <-- equipped with optional weapon units. promethuem5 Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 Wonder if they'll make any of the clunkier original PSX Armored Core designs? Quote
Valkyrie Hunter D Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 I'd definitely get one if those pics are of an unpainted kit. Quote
robokochan Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 (edited) Just so you guys know. If anyone wants these I have them. I also have all 3 of the option packs available as well. PM me if you want one. For MW I will give 20% off of the price. Rob Edited December 24, 2005 by samurai_m Quote
promethuem5 Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 Should I even ask what the price is? I wouldn't be able to get it soon, but it's certianly something to keep in the back of my mind... Quote
Mr March Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 Weren't there some high end action figures that were very cool. I've got a copy of the original Armored Core Playstation game on the way and if I like it, I might consider buying some of the toys, but I'm looking for something bigger than the typical action figure sizes. Quote
wolfx Posted December 25, 2005 Author Posted December 25, 2005 I'm quite sure those pictures have paint on them. I got one of the Gaea kits and boy was it quite heavy. Its scaled at 1/72 so not sure how big its gonna be whe you're done with it. The colours out of the box seem very blackish and dark. The blue parts isn't the blue that's shown in the pictures. Its darker almost black. But generally everything is in its base colour. I think I'm gonna do a hack job of painting this thing. Get some metallic blue, gunmetal and black spray cans....that should do the trick. Quote
F360° Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 Here is a link for another review with lots of pics. no painting envolve. Looks pretty damd good. and They also stand it next to some Gundams for scale size, which is around the size of a 1/100 Destiny MS. http://www.excite.co.jp/world/english/web/...p=JAEN&wb_dis=2 Quote
UN Spacy Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 Wasn't this also a Kamamori designed mech? How long has he been doing the AC series? What.....several years? Quote
yellowlightman Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 Wasn't this also a Kamamori designed mech? How long has he been doing the AC series? What.....several years? 354992 Kawamori was the mecha designer for the original Armored Core game, not sure if he's done the designs for the sequels as well. The original came out in '97... so it's been a while. Quote
shiyao Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 I just got Mirage (this kotobukiya AC) yesterday, and I was wondering: how has the quality of Kotobukiya's SUPER ROBOT WARS model kits been? I fear I might have foolishly splurged out too much on 3 kotobukiya kits in one go. Quote
wolfx Posted June 27, 2006 Author Posted June 27, 2006 The next in the Kotobukiya line is already on sale. The Crest. Looks ZOMGAWESOME. http://www.kotobukiya.co.jp/item/page/pk_a...est/index.shtml Quote
