Air Elijah Posted September 26, 2003 Posted September 26, 2003 Hey all, I have the chance to pick up a 1/48 Max VF-1A today. The retail price here is normally stupid but today I can get one for 30% off so it should be reasonable. I just want to check though th following: 1. What exactly is a reasonable price for one of these outside of Japan? Say if you were purchasing in the USA? 2. What's the cheapest you can find a VF-1S Roy these days? That's what I REALLY want but I'd take this one for starters. 3. What were the problems with the Max? Thanks. Quote
Hurricane29 Posted September 26, 2003 Posted September 26, 2003 Check out Twin Moons and Valkyrie-exchange for good deals. Quote
Air Elijah Posted September 26, 2003 Author Posted September 26, 2003 (edited) You got a link for Twin Moons? Where is the dude that runs it...? You here? I see VA has them for $135 but is that cheap? By the time I got it shipped to Australia that'd be way more than what I'd pay today at this store. Edited September 26, 2003 by Air Elijah Quote
Qrusader Posted September 26, 2003 Posted September 26, 2003 Twin Moons http://www.tmpanime.com/ Valkyrie Exchange http://www.valkyrie-exchange.com/frames.html I have bought from both of these guys, and they are fair and reasonable. Twin Moons and VEX. $135 sounds good for a Max. I've heard that outside of the Low Viz, this was the highest quality 1/48 to date. Good luck to you. Quote
Air Elijah Posted September 26, 2003 Author Posted September 26, 2003 Thanks. That hits the spot. With $128 from Twin Moons and probably $40 for shipping to Austrlia I'd bee looking at $168 which is about $250 Australian. I can pick one up for $230 so I think I might just do that. Quote

BTW, EMS shipping to Australia for the 1/48 valk is $36.00. Best Regards, Tamim Edited September 26, 2003 by twinmoons Quote
Air Elijah Posted September 26, 2003 Author Posted September 26, 2003 Hey, thanks. What about non-EMS? I'm not fussed on speed. Quote
twinmoons Posted September 26, 2003 Posted September 26, 2003 Well, non-EMS isn't much cheaper. Parcel Post is $32.75 and it takes about 10 days. But do you really want your 1/48 valkyrie to be shipped without insurance or a tracking number?!? I wouldn't recommend it. The cheapest method is surface parcel post which takes up to 6 weeks, and that's $21.50. Again it doesn't have insurance or a tracking number and I would not recommend it at all. And in case you're wondering, these are the exact shipping costs - we don't mark up shipping costs nor do we charge so-called handling fees. Quote
Air Elijah Posted September 26, 2003 Author Posted September 26, 2003 Insurance is fine. Tracking number I don't really care for. Whatever the case it looks to be too expensive getting them shipped. Thanks heaps for the help. Sorry I can't give you another sale. Quote

hevangel2 Posted September 26, 2003 Posted September 26, 2003 Toy-wave has the cheapest 1/48 Max. US$89. EMS shipping from HK is pretty much standard price. I saw the stamps on the package, and converted it back to US dollar. They didn't over-charge the shipping. Quote
