EXO Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 that lion-o figure looks awesome... but that's a huge scale. Too bad they're not scaled with the MOTUC stuff.
Wanzerfan Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 And so it begins.... Nice Babylon 5 reference. From what I saw of the new series... I think I'm going to projectile vomit. God, too bad Filmation ran out of money and couldn't do a third chapter where they totaly destroy Mumm-Ra's helmet, preventing him from ever reviving. I wonder if Qubo Channel will add the classic series to thier "Nite Owl" block. It's certainly better than shittyass Ghostbusters.

Except Thundercats wasn't made by Filmation much like the rest of Qubo's lineup. It was produced by Rankin/Bass Productions along with SilverHawks and Tigersharks.

Slimer yeah, that sucked. But "The Real Ghostbusters" was the absolute shite.
areaseven Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 I know you're not hating on Ghostbusters now. Slimer yeah, that sucked. But "The Real Ghostbusters" was the absolute shite. He's just jealous because he's a fan of Filmation's Ghostbusters and he had a thing for Tracy.
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 If I can afford it, I'll get all the new classic figures. That Lion-O figure sold me. Seven inches is a tad too tall for me, tho'.
one_klump Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Oh man, 'The Real Ghostbusters" was so awesome. It made me scared of the boogyman all over again.
ae_productions Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 that classic lion-o looks good Yeah! I am very impressed. As if I don't have enough crap I'm buying now!
one_klump Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I'm not quite sold on the new Thundertank. I like the missiles and scoops on the rear, but the head is fugly imo. I loved the classic Thundertank's full mouth with the teeth.
valhary Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 (edited) agree one_klump the new thundertank fails the original is better so i hope bandai include it in the classic series Edited February 8, 2011 by valhary
Wanzerfan Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Except Thundercats wasn't made by Filmation much like the rest of Qubo's lineup. It was produced by Rankin/Bass Productions along with SilverHawks and Tigersharks. Silly me, thanks for reminding me about that little detail. I forgot that multiple production compinies made seires that had PSA's at the end of thir episodes (Marvel and Filmation being the most notorous of the lot).Is it just me, or does areaseven seem to have a mission to piss me off?

taksraven Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 It was produced by Rankin/Bass Productions along with SilverHawks and Tigersharks. Thundercats and Silverhawks. Two of the most interchangeable shows in animation history.
one_klump Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 No way, Tally hawk was WAY more awesome than Snarf. He even had his own sweet, almost life-size toy
valhary Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 new image of classic series liono and reveals tygra
EXO Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Those are awesome prices... $17 for 8" and $8 for the smaller ones. Compared to other toys in retail and $20 + shipping for MOTU that's pretty decent.
Guest sh002 Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 i like the look of most of the figures. not too fond of how panthro looks. the thundertank is kinda iffy too.
ae_productions Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Those are awesome prices... $17 for 8" and $8 for the smaller ones. Compared to other toys in retail and $20 + shipping for MOTU that's pretty decent. I agree. And I love how the classics will be to scale with the MOTU classics! How bitching is that going to be to have all these on a shelf? Wait, wait. Did I just say bitchin?
EXO Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 I agree. And I love how the classics will be to scale with the MOTU classics! How bitching is that going to be to have all these on a shelf? Wait, wait. Did I just say bitchin? they're not in scale with MOTUCs... I wish. These are 2" taller.
ae_productions Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 they're not in scale with MOTUCs... I wish. These are 2" taller. I thought they were releasing a Sanction and a "classics" line that were 7 inches? I thought the regular figures were shorter. Maybe I was wrong. Which would suck...a little. But we're still getting Thundercats figures!
eugimon Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) Ahhh... what could have been... http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/19485/cg-thundercats-test-footage- Edited February 13, 2011 by eugimon
Keith Posted February 13, 2011 Author Posted February 13, 2011 You know, as bad as that is, I don't hate it. Maybe I've just been dulled by Voltron 3D, The Sentinels & Shadow Chronicles, and the like.
EXO Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 lol. Why bother with CG if Lion-O was gonna look like he had bad make up application.
HappyPenguins Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Ahhh... what could have been... http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/19485/cg-thundercats-test-footage- Yeah, not impressed at all.....
one_klump Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 I really like Lion-o's voice actor. I think he nailed the aspect of a kid in a grown-up's body perfectly.
Scream Man Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 I didn't mind that either, but I'm happier we're getting a more traditional animated show. The 8inch figures are a musrt but I havent decided between the 4 and 6 inch modern ones. The 4 has vehicles, which is awesome, but the 6 has the better sculpted figures. Also Silverhawks was AWESOME and i wish they'd bring it back as well!
EXO Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Also Silverhawks was AWESOME and i wish they'd bring it back as well! What? You mean a cartoon where a character flies a space fighter controlled by a guitar? That's unthinkable!
Greyryder Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 Guitar operated spacecraft was the least of that show's mysteries. How did they breath in space? And, where was the gravity coming from? What? Of course, I watched it! It was a fun show!
ae_productions Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 What? You mean a cartoon where a character flies a space fighter controlled by a guitar? That's unthinkable! SILVER...BOMBA!
