Father Jack Posted September 15, 2005 Author Posted September 15, 2005 not bad, but is there any picture of her in her uniform, and not the flightsuit. Quote
farmer_yohei Posted September 15, 2005 Posted September 15, 2005 Wow, that pictures pretty good. What comes to mind for me atleast is a couple of the lines from Group X's "Mario Twins." "Wow. Good God/ Yeah you like the idiot don't ya" Its not completely my thinking, but its pretty close. Keep up the good work Father Jack's Girlfriend. Quote
Gabe Q Posted September 15, 2005 Posted September 15, 2005 I'm so glad the project is still alive. I'll see if I can help with the pic. Quote

kanata67 Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 it's nice when your girl says "sure I'll color that in... it would be good experience" as opposed to "you brought home WHAT from a strange bathroom?!?!?!?" which reminds me... anybody need a sink... or two? Quote

We're both dumpster divers extraordinaire. Both of us have found plenty of cool stuff in the Dumpster of where we live. A guitar, a computer where all the text on screen was in Korean, and it had some really tame porn on it. A working five CD changer. Velvet lined shelves, desks, lamps. Lots of stuff that needs little to no cleaning and works just fine. I tells ya there is no better place to find your electronics than in the trash. Oh and I still need a picture of millia's TV zentradi uniform to finish the picture. The one renato gave me of the flight suit is good for the colors, but for what colors the markings are, she would like a picture. So if anyone has one shoot it my way. Hurin Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 (edited) If nobody has done so by tonight, I'll break out the DVDs and take a screenshot. H Edited September 20, 2005 by Hurin Quote
Father Jack Posted September 20, 2005 Author Posted September 20, 2005 thanks thats much easier than pausing my DVD's so she can try to copy it. It's been awhile since I saw the segment she was in, but I can't remember how the markins on her uniform went. Except the Zentradi emblem. Quote

After that, I think there's a scene where she begs LapLamiz to let her become a spy on the Macross. Hopefully shots from one or both of those scenes should suffice. H Quote
Father Jack Posted September 20, 2005 Author Posted September 20, 2005 those were the ones I was going to use. I know it's purple, but like I said I cant remember the markings. Thanks again Quote

Zinjo Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 (edited) So a funny thing happend on the way to the forum...I was on my way to a job interview yesterday, and it was only a mile from where I live so I just decided to walk it. I stopped to use the bathroom at the local half price books and what should I see on the wall but a picture of a Q-rau. I was like wow thats unusual. Then I turned around, and the other side was plastered with Macross pictures. I fell in love with this one and asked them if I could purchase it. (You should have seen the look on the clerk's face when I asked her if I could purchase one of the pictures from the men's room. ) Anyway they gave it to me for 50 cents it looks like a parody of the work of Alfons Mucha. Anyway here you go... (Special thanks to my girlfriend Rachelle for helping with th photoshop work.) 317079 It reminds of the old "Doodle Art" from the 70's.....yes I'm THAT old.... Though I have the "Original Illustration" Portfolio and had to do a double take when I saw this: http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/books/...lustrations.htm I thought I might have had the picture, but when I looked again I was looking at the wrong back cover... Father Jack Posted November 17, 2005 Author Posted November 17, 2005 I don't think the link works. But maybe thats just me. Nothing to update. I'll try to get her to finish it this weekend. Quote
Zor Primus Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Amazing what we stumble on when lurking the forums. Even more amazing is what you stumbled on in a Men's room...hope the paper wasn't sticky when ya got it! (there made the joke). Seriously, the coloring your girlfriend has been doing isgreat! Also took a looksy at her page. I really liked her "Night" illustration. She has some really great talent! I look forward to seeing the finished product! Quote

Thank you eveyone for your patience I hope you like the outcome. 347932 Buddy we fell in love with the "in progress" part, so I'm sure we love the final result!! Thanks for all the work. Are you going to do multiple resolutions? Like 800x600, 1024x768, and 1600x1200? I've found that starting with a 1600x1200 and simply reducing the image gives the right sizes without any loss in quality... Quote
Father Jack Posted November 28, 2005 Author Posted November 28, 2005 we will do a couple of sizes I think. I will leave a note for my girlfriend before I go to work telling her to make a few wallpaper sizes. If she remembers I'll post them whan I get home with any final comments we might have. so stay tuned Quote
Father Jack Posted November 29, 2005 Author Posted November 29, 2005 (edited) Father Jack's girlfriend here! He's working late and since he's still logged into his account here I thought I'd surprise him and post the wallpapers. OK first, so you appreciate all the work that went behind this, here's some facts: - The finished (un-flatened) Photoshop file size is 73.6MB - The Photoshop file has 67 layers! - The original picture had to be scanned in 2 parts and put together on the computer - Not all of the lines in the picture connect! This forced me to make up certain parts of the drawing. This is most apparent in their hair. - File size (in inches) is about 14" x 10" and set at 300dpi Alright, I made four sizes of wallpapers. 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024, 1600x1200. OK, now hopefully all the wallpapers are attached to this message. I'd like to add that I did not cell shade the characters because I don't believe they'd be a good fit with the style of this piece. OK, enjoy! ------------------------ EDIT: Hmmm, looks like there might be a size limit on here because some of the wallpapers I attached don't appear to be the full size. If anyone can host the larger wallpapers, umm, I don't know, post or pm Father Jack. Sorry, I don't want to host them on my own website because I have the tiny (i.e. cheapest) hosting plan and I fear my bandwidth exploding. lol Edited November 29, 2005 by Father Jack Quote
