spanner Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 lol! didn't one of the transformers movies have a giant robot nutshot? ballsy move! XD also, the pic above suggests that only the right nut gets 100 points (because it's a little lower???). left nut = 0 points??? then again.. aren't ships and things like this mostly female? so then it could even be a box shot!?!? Shermantank Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 (edited) Hello I'm still very new to the Robotech/Macross toys and shows mainly the 80s show. I have been collecting vintage transformers for a long time now but recently got my first Vintage Macross toy besides Jetfire. I've been buying reissues because I can't afford the original versions. I got this one from a friend of mine even still had the receipt From 1986 in the box. Its very yellow so I broke him down and soaked his parts in hydrogen peroxide. Now it's better looking just can't seem to figure out what type of red paint did they use on the chest so I can properly restore it. Edited July 18, 2015 by Shermantank Quote
ver CO Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 (edited) It may be OT but is it worth getting the old brown Takatoku VF-1A? Like this one here from MW's toy catalogue. No gun, no box. Just the Valk. Somehow, I want it. Not sure if it's worth $40 though. Thanks! Edited July 30, 2015 by ver CO Quote
jvmacross Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 (edited) old school-ish? Macross 7 mini-figs..Micro Macross line from Bandai 1994....Sets 1 thru 4....sets 5 and 6 never made it into production....anyone have pre-production pics of the actual figurines? They may be in some magazine or catalog of the era.... Edited August 4, 2015 by jvmacross Quote
jvmacross Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Cool! Never seen or even heard of those! yeah...Macross 7 was all about the music...thus the large amount of CDs from the shows....unfortunately, very little in terms of toys and collectibles when the series originally aired....although some of the collectibles that were released are oddly interesting..... Want a 1/1 Gubaba keychain? Check! In the market for a "The VF's of Macross7" hanky? Done! Quote

jvmacross Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Nice finds! That last one is fairly uncommon....I am not even sure if it is an officially licensed product but it is still very cool and old school! Quote

Would you be able to cover up the painted chest and then soak it in peroxide? I am interested in your method because I have some yellowed chogokin to restore as well. I've read some How To's on the web, just very scared to try it and damage the existing paint, although they say you can cover it with masking tape. Quote

Cowboy17 Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 I posted this in another thread back last summer when I picked it up -Â Â I stumbled across this at a 2nd and Charles in Atlanta back in the summer. Â The tab that hooks the back into the underside of the nose in battroid doesn't hold that well but look at how white this thing is! (slight leg discolor but otherwise amazing). Â Even came with original decal sheet and the little bio card! It was only 70 bucks too. Â Â Â Quote
