What do these words mean?

I always see people use the term LOL. I thought it meant Lots of Love, but then it does not make sense how some people are using it.

Also, what does it mean when people write "BUMP"?

LOL = Laugh Out Loud

BUMP = When you post in a forum or message board, it keeps your thread from being lost amongst other threads that have more activity. Therefore, posting in a thread with simply BUMP will push it to the top of the list of the first page of threads.

To add in - BUMPing a topic on MW is typically frowned upon by the moderators.

Here's a handy guide for future reference:

LOL- Data's daughter with her name spelled wrong.

Bump- ...and grind.

IIRC- The sound your significant other makes once they've realised you just dropped next month's rent on a toy.

LMAO- Short for "Lil Mao', the Communist Rap Superstar. (bling)

ROTFL- Kind of like the ROTC, but lamer.

ROTFLMAO- Same as ROTFL, but your down with 'Lil Mao. (bling)
