Deadzone Posted September 25, 2003 Posted September 25, 2003 I always see people use the term LOL. I thought it meant Lots of Love, but then it does not make sense how some people are using it. Also, what does it mean when people write "BUMP"? Quote
Mechamaniac Posted September 25, 2003 Posted September 25, 2003 LOL = Laugh Out Loud BUMP = When you post in a forum or message board, it keeps your thread from being lost amongst other threads that have more activity. Therefore, posting in a thread with simply BUMP will push it to the top of the list of the first page of threads. Quote
fulcy Posted September 25, 2003 Posted September 25, 2003 To add in - BUMPing a topic on MW is typically frowned upon by the moderators. Quote
Deadzone Posted September 25, 2003 Author Posted September 25, 2003 Instead of bumping, why don't people just write some inane comment to move their topic up. That's what I do. Quote
Agent ONE Posted September 25, 2003 Posted September 25, 2003 Instead of bumping, why don't people just write some inane comment to move their topic up. That's what I do. LOL, yeah that is what everyone does, but no one admits it! Quote
the white drew carey Posted September 26, 2003 Posted September 26, 2003 Here's a handy guide for future reference: LOL- Data's daughter with her name spelled wrong. Bump- ...and grind. IIRC- The sound your significant other makes once they've realised you just dropped next month's rent on a toy. LMAO- Short for "Lil Mao', the Communist Rap Superstar. (bling) ROTFL- Kind of like the ROTC, but lamer. ROTFLMAO- Same as ROTFL, but your down with 'Lil Mao. (bling) Quote
