Deadzone
I know a lot of die hard Harlock fans hated this Harmony Gold version of Captain Harlock, but it was the Captain Harlock I grew up on. I think the great thing about it was mainly the voice acting and the music. Yeah, the kids were annoying, but Harlock was done well. The problem is I have never seen the show televised outside of the bay area. Now I can't find anybody who has old episodes. If somebody recorded the thing or has copies of it I would greatly appreciate that person contacting me. Yes, I would be willing to pay money to get my hands on the old Carl Macek rendition of Harlock. On a side note, did they every make a model of the Arcadia shown in this version? I have seen other models of the arcadia that are similar but not the same. Essentially, the front is not pointed, but has these two large exhaust valves or something in the front. Tekkaman Blade
I've been looking for it too, but i don't remember the name being Captain Harlock Queen of a Thousand Years. o_O
Keith
Screw that, let's hope someone releases the 2 series unmeshed together, mayhaps in a couple HK DVD box sets once they come out on R2 DVD.
Legioss
That's the version I grew up on too. That might have been my first anime, either Harlock or Robotech. A while back I did find some fansub distros that claimed to have it, but I never got around to ordering the tapes. I lost my enthusiasm for Harlock over the years to other shows. Captain Harlock and The Queen of a Thousand Years is a "Robotech" of Space Pirate Captain Harlock (or was it SSX?) and Queen Millennia. Unlike Robotech, the footage goes back and forth between the two shows instead of having them one after the other. It was produced by good ole anime butcher Unca Carl. Harmony Gold never put out any videos or products for it AFAIK. It's lost and forgotten about like their Dragonball dubs. Captain Harlock and The Queen of a Thousand Years, an agonizingly long title that filled up the whole TV screen, is not the same as the other Captain Harlock dub released by Malibu Comics. This is the one where the kid is named Christopher Jenson, the computer is Roger, the little girl is Maya, and the queen of the Mazone is Regina (hehe I still remember 15 years later). There are 2 other characters named Nora and Olivia. http://www.angelfire.com/nh/eternalanime/ http://www.angelfire.com/nh/eternalanime/main.html He says he's trying to sell all his fansubs. If this guy really does have them, he's got episodes 15-21 and 45-51 on this page: http://www.geocities.com/amethyst_light/ http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-...nd+the+queen%22 edit: I saw this show in 1987-1988 on The Cartoon Channel, a TV station we used to have here in Alaska that had cartoons 24 hours a day. Tekkaman Blade
I grew up on Teknoman (Tekkaman Blade B) Later was Robotech (Macross) and then way later I saw some über old tapes of Harlock. They used to have a show on by Malibu Comics at one time too.
Deadzone
Screw that, let's hope someone releases the 2 series unmeshed together, mayhaps in a couple HK DVD box sets once they come out on R2 DVD. The interesting thing is, I kind of liked the two stories meshed together. I think if I saw Harlock all the time or Queen of a Thousand years for an entire episode, it would get boring. That was one problem I had with Starblazers. It was always the same thing over and over again. Watching the space battles was fun, but there really wasn't much of a plot except fight off the alien attack episode after episode. By mixing it up, they could have the space battles with Harlock and a mysterious plot line with the Queen of a Thousand years. The biggest problem I had was just how they could not connect the two stories at the end.

Thanks for the heads up! I checked the guy's site. He lists the quality as being B and below. That really worries me. Usually A quality is still pretty bad. I can't imagine B or C quality. The search goes on.
