Mr March Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 Hehehe.Well, it's never easy giving up what you once enjoyed (Macross anyone?). But sometimes you just have to admit your life has changed and things can't stay the same. I got a friend who's been married for 2 years now and has a kid, but can't quite accept he just doesn't have time to game anymore. Despite the fact that it's been almost a year and a half since he touched a game, he keeps reading gaming news and swears he's going to buy a new game "real soon" I'm the same way... I don't play games at all anymore... but I still love hearing about them and I had a really good time at E3... I love the technologicaladvances and stuff... So just because I don't play anymore, should I have not gone to E3? You should engage in those activities you have time for...and my friend should do the same E3 sounds like a fun way to stay on the up and up without the demands of most new games, but I doubt my friend would ever go.
yellowlightman Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 But then it begs the question, why aren't you simply doing the same? Because an otherwise positive member of our community, who has contributed a great deal... And you have proof of this where? We can do a direct comparison. NANASHI: 1.) A Macross website 2.) Lots of pictures scanned in and presented to forum members, who likely wouldn't otherwise see them. DUKE TOGO: 1.) He made that "100% Macross: Accept No Substitute" picture, except he mispelled substitute. You were saying...?

Thought you were done? oh... just done with me... what's the matter? can't argue with me anymore? poor togo.
yellowlightman Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 Best retort ever. You sure you weren't in your high school's debate team, or something? You argumentative prowess is impressive.
Duke Togo Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 This coming from a guy who said this? Not to mention, no wonder you're so uptight. If you think a little cheesecake counts as "porn" you obviously need to get your ass laid. I've seen your pictures, so I know it must be hard but aren't you from New York? You could probably find yourself a nice, cheap hooker or something. I shut you up pretty quickly there, didn't I? What's next, you going to challenge me on penis size? As for EXO, he knows I am done with that situation, if he wants to continue it, he won't get the response he is looking for.
Isamu Atreides 86 Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 as far as i am concerned, both bloody sides are to blame here. Everyone needs to back the bloody hell off this "issue". they are pictures, not the cure to cancer.

Wow, you can copy and paste from PMs, good job! As it stands, I don't have much else to say. You've voiced your displeasure with Nanashi, but have yet to provide any proof or reasoning for why you feel that way, or why you're even justified to continually harass him on the forums. But go ahead, you can dodge the subject again and post a funny picture.
Hurin Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 . . . no one else seems to care enough to call him out on it. I have. Repeatedly. I gave up when I realized that people I respect and don't wish to annoy weren't really following the arguments or noticing who "started it" or who was "right" or "wrong". . . they just wanted the arguing to stop. And I got tired of being accused of "ruining threads" or otherwise just being lumped in with the behavior I was attempting to decry. Throw in the fact that Togo is one of the "untouchables" around here. . . and it's pretty pointless to try to take him on. You'll just end up being aggravated, baited, and then told to shut the hell up even by people who dislike him as much as you do.

Being annoyed at him because of his picture protection policy or not updating his website is not a legitimate reason to be so upset at him and and continually harass him on the forums.

I'm just impressed you finally came to realize you are not a "hero" and should just butt out (it's only taken like what? A whole year??). So I suppose this whole fight had one positive outcome afterall.

Hurin Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 This thread has gone LAME. Hehe. . . and contributions like this help so very much. H
EXO Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 This thread has gone LAME. It was lame to begin with.. just Prometheum trying to kiss ass so he can be with the "in" goon squad.
Isamu Atreides 86 Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 there really wasn't a need for this. all it does is piss people off more. This should have been done via PM.

Noyhauser Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 (edited) . . . no one else seems to care enough to call him out on it. I have. Repeatedly. You'll just end up being aggravated, baited, and then told to shut the hell up even by people who dislike him as much as you do. I pretty well agree with what Hurin said, I've called him on it before, and now I don't because of being lumped in with togo and everybody else. But for once I'll take a stab at nanashi. I have several problems with Nanashi. I have problems with the watermarking of photos that essentially he has done nothing more than scanned and made available online. They aren't his work in the first place, and I will say togo's thread in a comedic way displayed the riduclouslness of his policy. Also never mind the obvious question why someone would even watermark something when he doesn't even have a website to point people to. Regardless I do accept that he does a service and so I can easily live with the trade off of having his watermark on photos. However what really gets to me is his arrogance, essentially thinking that he knows more than everybody else and deserves better respect or treatment because he provides a service for Macrossworld. I accept that he does do something for us, but so do a hell of a lot of other people on here, especially in the models department, and they don't ask for anything in return like he does. In some way I think the watermark has little to do with pointing people to his own site, but to increse his visiblilty to people on this forum. I didn't particularly like his attitude before but this thread in models really ticks me off: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...2597&hl=nanashi Pretty well he came into the Model forum, without ever building a model, and sought to tell modelers his opinion about our craft, and how poor Hasagawa models are as a respresntation of Macross. Then after being definitively told off by several experienced modelers (who have done far more for Macross than his all mighty contribution of scanning a couple of photos and prominently imprinting his watermark on it) he crys wolf and runs away. He whines whenever he doesn't get his way, like when he posted essentially rape hentai on the forums of Misa and Minmay. When the mods took it down (for obvious reasons), he cried all over the forum about his free speech being curtailed. Jemstone if you really wanted to uphold moral standards for women on this board, I'd suggest looking into nanashi's activities on this forum, not Low viz lurker's. Finally there was the spectacular episode when Egan came on and essentially corrected nanashi for every single inaccuracy he posted about his site. Pure vindication. Oh and what I really really despise is when we do point out the inconsistencies in his behavior, nanashi makes it out to be that he is the target of constant attack and then makes a big huff in leaving, only to come back in two weeks under a different name. Then he repeats the cycle over and over. I wonder if it has ever entered his narrow mind that maybe, just maybe, that he himself is the cause of the grief he gets on this board, not everybody else. I agree that he does a service for MW, but so do a lot of people without the arrogance or the melodramatics he brings. His attitude, like several other people on this forum borders on childish, and is just a pointless distraction that brings the forum down. edited for my terrible grammar Edited June 22, 2005 by Noyhauser
