Agent-GHQ Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 Has anyone painted the Yamato 1/48 canopy in aburn color like the 1/55 series. If so, would I used the clear-like aburn to give it the see-through effects exactly like the 1/55 series. And what is your opinion on subject in question. Is it a nah or a yeah? Ryver Quote
EXO Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 why? I remember we were all having trouble just getting people to recast clear canopies for the 1/55s, why go three steps back? Quote
Dat Pinche Haro! Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 i could see someone wanting to do so for nastalgia sake....so it could remind you more of your original toy you had when you were a kid...if i didn't suck at customizing i would probably do the same Quote
Agent-GHQ Posted June 4, 2005 Author Posted June 4, 2005 why? I remember we were all having trouble just getting people to recast clear canopies for the 1/55s, why go three steps back? EXO; Well, I kind of like the aburn. To me it adds a touch of definition than the clear one. And it looks plain versus the aburn canopy. I was just imagining what it would be like to do it though. Hehe...Then again its just my opinion though. Quote
Stamen0083 Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 You could do what aircraft modellers do with their aircraft canopies: tint Future floor wax with some food coloring and cover the canopy with it. Or use some clear paint to paint the canopy. You can get the same effect. Quote
Agent-GHQ Posted June 4, 2005 Author Posted June 4, 2005 When painting the canopy, is it best to paint the exterior or the interior of the canaopy? Quote
Godzilla Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 When painting the canopy, is it best to paint the exterior or the interior of the canaopy? Paint the exterior. Interior is too hard. Quote
