jadefalconguard Posted May 22, 2005 Posted May 22, 2005 I couldn't resist putting this WIP pics here. The mecha is a Clan Omnimech armed with LRM20, 2 large Pulse Lasers and 2 Medium Pulse Laser. It's primary role is a fire support mech. Designated Mad Dog within the Clans, when the Draconis Combine forces first saw this mech in 3050 they dubbed it 'Vulture'. The sight of two of these mechs a top a mountain ridge strikes fear in the heart of enemy pilots as it spells a certain dead ! Sorry, can't resist the fluff Quote
jadefalconguard Posted May 22, 2005 Author Posted May 22, 2005 Only painted the bird and gave it a wash. I'm still waiting for my Jade Falcon decals to make this Mad Dog the personal mount of Aidan Pride from the Jade Falcon Guards, Gamma Galaxy. A simple ground work will hold the Mad Dog in place Quote
jadefalconguard Posted May 22, 2005 Author Posted May 22, 2005 RUN FOREST RUN................... Quote
jadefalconguard Posted May 22, 2005 Author Posted May 22, 2005 The ground works still needs some finishing touches and the Mad Dog itself also....but it gives a nice idea. Mods, if you feel this post isn't in place feel free to remove. Any feedback is welcome. G. Quote
jezter101 Posted May 22, 2005 Posted May 22, 2005 any chance to surround Aidan with Comstar mechs to remake his infamous LAST STAND!! Quote
jadefalconguard Posted May 22, 2005 Author Posted May 22, 2005 @ jezter 101 : I'll have to make the Timber Wolf wich is no problem, but I can't find any mecha that are suitable enough in1/48th scale Nice to see people now of Aidan Quote
jadefalconguard Posted May 22, 2005 Author Posted May 22, 2005 For those how play/know the Mechwarrior Age Of Destruction CMG game, here's a pic with the Vulture mech used in this boardgame Quote
promethuem5 Posted May 22, 2005 Posted May 22, 2005 (edited) That's sweet... Aiden Pryde is badassed! Which Timberwolf model is that in the background of the one pic? It's not the large wooden one, is it? EDIT: Man, I wish I could afford an Armorcast... Edited May 22, 2005 by promethuem5 Quote
jadefalconguard Posted May 22, 2005 Author Posted May 22, 2005 Nope, it's a Vinyl kit I picked up once from Horizon. It's the 1/35th scale and the Timberwolf dwarfs the Mad Dog Quote
promethuem5 Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 (edited) Er... actually, I think i was referring to the Vinyl.... the wooden one I'm thinking of was something else completely... EDIT: One thing I would do is to work on the cockpit... At that larger scale, the msot convicing technique I have seen is to do the glass gloss black... a clear canpy with scratchbuilt interior would be really cool too, but it's a little late for that now... I think that the color you;ve got on it right now is a little flat tho... not enough shading or anything compared to the rest of the mech. Edited May 23, 2005 by promethuem5 Quote
Grayson72 Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 Nice work, looks really sweet! You need to go back and resize your pics though, 640x480. Quote

I know, it was my first Mech/mecha/Robot like thingie I ever build. I did however use the cockpit parts of a 1/32 scale Phantom to scratchbuild an interior. But I always kept this for nostalgic reasons Quote
jadefalconguard Posted May 23, 2005 Author Posted May 23, 2005 Nice work, looks really sweet! You need to go back and resize your pics though, 640x480. I know, but I was kind of rushed putting these up. We'll do next time Quote
Akula Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 nice, mine isn't painted yet, but i was thinking of an urban camo as opposed to a desert... your's is lookin pretty sweet, Aiden Pryde rules! Quote
jezter101 Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 they should make these in Masterpiece like MP-01.. that would kickass!! haha.. wishful thinking as always.. Quote
Montarvillois Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 Geez ! I tought I was the only one that liked battletech's mech designs here. I have a madcat myself but it's a diecast version by joyride that i painted in custom camo colors. Here's a picture Quote
jadefalconguard Posted May 25, 2005 Author Posted May 25, 2005 Nice work on that Joyride MadCatII. To bad they have such an ugly seam in the middle. I can't get myslf to repaint my Spirit Cat one @ Akula, if you can get your hands on "camo schemes" one of the older semi TRO's from Battletech there are some nice guides in there. Also the first edition of 'mechwarrior' RPG book has nice color schemes in there. If you want I can look them up and scan some examples. LMK Quote
cokefiend Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 Jade, may I suggest you post these photos over at StarshipModeler as well? They need more mech photos in their gallery. I'll be posting mine just as soon as I can decide on a paint scheme. Quote
jadefalconguard Posted May 26, 2005 Author Posted May 26, 2005 As soon as it's completely finished I might post some pcis there, but I ordered my decals from Prianha via snail mail Quote

promethuem5 Posted May 30, 2005 Posted May 30, 2005 Nice repaint of the Joyride Mad Cat.... I might have to do that myself... I did some 'detailing' but looking back, its pretty aweful... Funny how all the CBTers are flocking here.... you should all join www.lordsofthebattlefield.com (shameless plug) Quote
irishman Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 WOOT WOOT! We LOTBers are everywhere! You never know! Make sure to eye your neighbors, your co-workers, even your own children with suspicion. We are all among you! Irishman Quote
jadefalconguard Posted May 31, 2005 Author Posted May 31, 2005 (edited) We will follow the wisdom of General Kerensky to show the Inner Sphere the true Light of the Clan. We are Jade Falcon and shall tremble all who stands in our way. Seyla, Elizabeth Hazen, as She was the first of our brethren. *shakes head* It's nice to see CBT still has people who care about that. I'm kind of an exception around here in Belgium...... edit : typo Edited May 31, 2005 by jadefalconguard Quote
