If you have an airbrush, German grey is a great color to use. Then use a white to lighten it up to your preference. German grey is a great color that matches parts of the SDF-1 in DYRL.

Start with a very dark (prefereably black) primer and work the white on gradually to develop a grayish white color.

well, i see... but then is a primer really needed in this case? i mean can't i just directly spray the paint on it ? or the primer is required so thgat the pain will stick onto it ?

can advise me on this? please let me know thanks.

Back in the day I customized an SDF-1 like the DYRL style. For the white colors, I used a matte white with a touch of black. It's not a straight white color. As for the blue, Tamiya blue, mixed with the German Grey is what worked for me. The reason why I used the greys and off whites is cause the Macross in DYRL is a very non-brilliant style. Lot's of dull colors, and greys. Hope that helps. :D
