MSN had a similar article a while back, it was absolutely hilarious. They were talking about online gaming, and warning parents about "griefers", roving bands of bad players who go around creating havoc in servers. Of course, anyone who really plays online games knows that Smacktards are very rarely organized to such a degree...

It's really funny when the rest of the world clues into internet culture that we take for granted. Gawd, I feel like everyone is a decade behind when I see this stuff.

OMG parents beware! Your kids are computer hackers trying to steal your credit card details! They've been encrypting thier messages all along. What will we do?

Alarmed parent:

"Lets start a campaign to ban the internet. It ruins thier spelling, makes them into cyber criminals, perverts thier innocent minds, and there is no control."

Welcome to last decade. :D By the time the parents have discovered thier kids secret, the kids are now adults and are still using the hackerspeak. Given how long it took for them to figure this out, it shows how little attention parents pay to thier kids.

That is funny and also very sad. I had to check the article's date to make sure. Makes me wonder what kind of people they have working at CNN to just be getting this..... What's the next article on.... the use of slang?

It just reminds me of the Newsradio where Phil Hartman tried to learn ebonics and was instead given words of nonsense by his assistant.

"Gazizza, my brothers! Rocket Fuel... damn."

That reminds me of the episode of Frasier where he gave his son's Bar Mitzvah speech in Klingon..

If you're a parent, pay attention to the following list. These words can point to illegal activities or indicate your child is a bully:

Curses now my parents will know all about the warez i've been trading for pron

CNN Climbs out from under the rock ladies and gentlemen....

EDIT: The sad thing is that I'm such a non-mainstrema 16 year old that I'm learning stuff by reading it :o
