EXO Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 R. Tam Session 416This downloadable file just showed up on ifilm. They claim they got it through a filesharing program, but as of now, no one, not even Universal, claims it. Rumor has it a part of the marketing blitz, although aimed at the horror crowd. Some think it's Nathan/Joss in the coat, some don't even think it's Summer. Either way, River just got a hell of alot more creepifying 321741 Uhmm... yeah... creeepy! Quote
Gaijin Posted August 24, 2005 Author Posted August 24, 2005 Here's the very first session of those...it's definitely Summer and Joss: http://www.theidlekind.com/session1.wmv Quote
Isamu Atreides 86 Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 thats pretty neat, and yeah it really looks like her. if t isn't, they're very good at doing her impression... Quote

JELEINEN Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 Another session's been posted: http://www.session416.com/mirrors Quote
uminoken Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 Aww, it's sad to see her descend into what she becomes Great idea to have these circling the net to get interest. Quote
JELEINEN Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 And another session has been added (see my post above for a link). Quote
uminoken Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 Yikes, they really messed her up! Apparantly there's going to be 5 total of these, so we're due for one more before the Big Damn Movie.... Quote
Gaijin Posted September 3, 2005 Author Posted September 3, 2005 The main movie site is fully active and there's a lot to see: Serenity Quote
Jemstone Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 Latest Mission accomplished to get a new convert. Was nerve racking there for a while but there's at least one more Firefly fan in the world. Quote
Gaijin Posted September 15, 2005 Author Posted September 15, 2005 Just converted 3 of our dispatchers. Now they are amped to see the film in a couple weeks. I just noticed the trailer playing on INHD's In Theaters show recently too...looks awesome in HD! Quote
Dobber Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 What I don't get is why it took o long for the movie to be released. It's been shown several times since the begining of the summer right? Was that not a finished copy? If not, what was missing? Chris Quote
Blaine23 Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 (edited) Dobber - that is actually part of a marketing scheme developed by Universal. I read an interview with Whedon and basically, they tried to promote the movie using different ideas, in hopes that interest in the movie would expand past the people who'd seen Firefly on DVD or TV. I think it's been shown something like 75 times already. Probably from "parially finished" test audiences, to "completely finished" marketing screenings. But the movie's always been scheduled for an early fall release. EDITED TO ADD: Here's a link to the interview (no real spoilers) - http://homepage.mac.com/merussell/iblog/B8...2427/index.html And it's interesting, Joss also admits that the movie file with Summer was also part of the unique marketing. Mechwarrior Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Fiefly marathon on Sci-Fi channel, all day of Firefly this tuesday(tomarrow), Sure it may be the same for most local programming as well. I bring this up for those who never caught it, since I personally never saw an episode till this thread started, I liked it. Loking forward to the movie this friday. Quote
MGREXX Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 DAMN!!!!!! I want to talk $hit about how Firelfy sucks and how it'a another crappy sci-fi serie but I will admit that......well, I am hooked!!!! I hope it does well this weekend beacuse I heard that Josh did a 3 movie deal with Universal if it does well. It was a damn good series!!!! p.s. poor Kayless needs some serious loving man!!!!! Quote
uminoken Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Yeah, somewhere in Sci-Fi's marathon is a special on the movie hosted by Capt Tightpants himself, my guess it'll be on that evening but I could be wrong. And there's been alot of talk about a trilogy, but it's all rumors. We do know Universal has plans to greenlight another movie if Serenity makes 80 million - twice what it cost to make it, but that's it Quote
MGREXX Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 Sounds like Firefly is getting good reviews overall. Quote
EXO Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 Got my Serenity tix for a midnight showing! Can't wait! Quote

EXO Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 you can see the sections selling out fast at the Arclight website. We're way in the back... but at least that better than being in the front of the cinerama dome. Quote
Gaijin Posted September 29, 2005 Author Posted September 29, 2005 I have to wait until tomorrow. Quote
EXO Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 I have to wait until tomorrow. 332637 thought you would have seen it by now. Quote
Graham Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Wonder how long I'm going to wait until Serenity makes it's way to Hong Kong. As it's not a mainstream movie, it probabaly won't even get a theatrical showing here, so I'll have to end up waiting for the DVD to be released. Graham Quote
Graham Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Also, I hope half the movie is not going to be wasted on reintroducing all the characters. While I accept, that some time has to be spent on this for those who have never seen the TV series, I hope that it's kept to a minimm. Graham Quote
Gaijin Posted September 30, 2005 Author Posted September 30, 2005 I have to wait until tomorrow. 332637 thought you would have seen it by now. 332639 in hawaii....no where to see any advanced screenings... Quote

I guess that's not a bad place to be stuck at with no screenings... Quote
Damaramu Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 I got to see a press screening several weeks ago, and I gotta say I think you guys will be impressed. I went without having seen the episodes and I was instantly hooked. I had no problems going along with the story ( a friend filled me in on a few things). Of course, I had to instantly rush out and get the boxset after watching Serenity. Overall, I think Firefly fans will be pleased. Quote
JELEINEN Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 I can go in 14 hours. 332769 Roger Ebert liked it. His review hasn't been posted yet, but you can see it here: http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.d...mplate=printart I'll be going to see the movie tomorrow night. Quote
