Druna Skass Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 A friend of mine told me about this site where you can take a midi turn it to a ring tone then have it sent to your phone. Does anyone know the name of this site? Quote
McKlown Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 Good question. Just got a new cellphone today myself and was wondering about getting Macross or other scifi/anime ringtones for it. Quote
Fort Max Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 Do you man the newer style polyphonci ringtones? If that's the case then I'd quite like to know as well. Quote
fernarias Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 You'll have to do some work but here: http://www.animeringtonesplus.com/aindex/macross.html F. Quote
Druna Skass Posted April 25, 2005 Author Posted April 25, 2005 You'll have to do some work but here:http://www.animeringtonesplus.com/aindex/macross.html F. No that isn't the kind I"m talking about. The site my friend metioned would send the ringtone to your phone, you don't need to punch it in. Quote
Max Jenius Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 I'm pretty sure the ones that send to you are not free. Quote
Kin Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 The world of ringtone business is sure a messy one. Quote
Commander McBride Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 There's a site that supposedly has a program that you download, which is a "studio" you can use to make MP3 ringtones. Personally, that's what I really want, as it'd allow use of just about any song out there, with minimal trouble and sounding like the real song. Quote
Bob_Coffee Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/faq/ this site has an uploader, and depending on what format your phone supports you can do various types of ringtones, most only support midi typically, but there are newer phones out there that support .wav and .mp3 Since i have a sprint phone, ill explain how to convert files into .qcp, which is qualcom's proprietary .mp3 like format, which will give you "real" songs instead of merely polyphonic midi tones. Right now, i use a kamen rider 555 ringtone. first go to the above page, and select the the info for .qcp, what you will need to do is first convert the mp3 to .wav or use a wav, next open up a .wav editor like cool edit pro and change the sample rate to the one listed on the page. here is also whare you'll boot gain and stuff like that in order to make the tone louder. Next just drag and drop the .wav into the converter, and it'll generate your qcp. next enter your sprint phone number into the uploader and upload the file(works the same way as an E-mail attachment) for non sprint phones, i think you just enter your phones e-mail address. Ether way it's the best way to do ringtones, without buying special software or dealing with expensive ringtone fees. Now to make a team america ring tone... Quote
