KingNor Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 I'm not much of a model builder, but i'm pretty good with my hands, and i'm able to cut things out, and glue them togeather well. what i can't do is paint. i've been getting the itch to make a model of something, and i was thinking, what would you guys think of a model of something like a valk that was painted a flat medium gray with some trim in black and white. I'd do things like pannel lines and trim, but for the most part the model would just be grey (it would look something like the prototype action figures you see in the toys section occasionally) whatcha think? agass4u Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 Even models with a primary standard color can look great. Well, let me rephrase that, it depends upon what paint you use, but flat usually looks good. If you didn't want to worry about the black and white, you can just mix your base color to make it darker or lighter for your accent colors. Even if you use the decals on say a Hasegawa kit with very few colors and a good paint scheme you can make it look spectacular. I say go for it. If you get to the point when it is time to put the decals on and you don’t like the color, you can always just strip the paint off and start again. Good luck and post some pics when you are done.
