fifbeat Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 Left one. The right one looks like a fat mockery. Quote
Skull-1 Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 (edited) *DEFINITELY* the one on the left. Bring on the SUMO! Edited April 18, 2005 by Skull-1 Quote
Skull-1 Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 No matter what, the Yamato one is set and will sell like hot cakes since this is the first removable GBP-1S toy since the Taka one decades ago You are forgetting Yamato's earlier 1/60 version! (Although many of us wish we could forget it) . Graham What's wrong with the 1/60 version????????? Mine is still in the box.... Quote
fifbeat Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 Mine is still in the box.... Where it belongs... since that's the only place is can remain intact. Actually, can someone post all THREE pics side by side... that'd be interesting. I would, but I'm at work and could get fired. :/ Quote
Jin_Kune_Do Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 So i guess...this one looks too big too huh? - Jin Quote
lt.actionjackson Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 From now on there should be a $1 fee to Graham and Shawn everytime someone posts a picture of the Thunderhummer. Quote
Fugly Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Ha ha ha...I was wondering when somebody would post that! Still, cool pic anyways. One on the right. Too many robots that aren't chunky enough, and this has chunky goodness galore. And, it transforms. AND, it's not a model. Quote
combined arms Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 What's wrong with the 1/60 version????????? Mine is still in the box.... Nobody has answered Skull-1's question yet. What is wrong with the 1/60 GBP? I'm curious too, because I was thinking of picking up a set. Neil Quote
Pat S Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Totally out of porportion. The chest should be much more compact. Compare it to the head. Quote
Majestic Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Perhaps the removable missles facilitate the larger chest. Quote
Guest Bromgrev Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Heh, boys and their toys. Hasegawa 'we're not worthy' all the way. What kind of toy is that, anyway, it's not even shiny. Yamato better get the polishing rags out for the finished product. If it doesn't shine, people might think it's a model ... Quote
nightmareB4macross Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 I dunno, I think I would take the one on the right. The one in the middle looks like the head is "prairie doggin'." Besides, the sculpt from yamato looks like it is a real pain to pose, but a pleasure to own. No matter what, I am still going to buy two from Yama-yama-tamato. Quote
Retracting Head Ter Ter Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Look here, as long as the bits don't pop off or have other shoddy QC issues, I am PERFECTLY HAPPY with either the sleek one on the left or the phat one on the right. Its the thought of popping bits or inability to move the limbs which worry me. The shape looks good enough. Left one is sleek, right one has the heavy hitter look (just put in the TV hands, no prob even if not included, just steal from another 1/48) so I am happy either way. p.s. Anyone look at the pics and the name which comes to mind is 'Crusader' ? Quote
Nani?! Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 As graham mentioned, it's already too far into production to change anything. As far as what looks better IMHO, I like the left by far. I believe there is an equilibrium between size and intimidation factor. The yamato one just looks plain doofy... like an opera house valkdiva. Thanks for showing the comparison, seeing it side by side really makes one thing loud and clear: Yamato likes gigantic breasissts and thick ankles. We need a 200kg, opera singing Minmay to go along with it and it'll be perfect! sigh.... At least yamato's making macross stuff~ I'll buy one... but my fastpacks will remain on my hikaru 1S. Quote
Onimusha-shin Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Anyone look at the pics and the name which comes to mind is 'Crusader' ? you mean this? hardly comparable, especially its weaponry. Quote
Mr March Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 *recalls his old Battletech table-top days* Gawd, I had almost forgotten about the awful, "inspired-by" designs. Battletech was so much better when they came up with original designs years into the system. Quote
Mechamaniac Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 right. Although, Hasegawas a correct potrayal, Yamato's looks more menacing. And that's the one I won't have to sand, prime, and paint to play with, so that is the one that will wind up on my shelf. Quote
kensei Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 right. Although, Hasegawas a correct potrayal, Yamato's looks more menacing. And that's the one I won't have to sand, prime, and paint to play with, so that is the one that will wind up on my shelf. That's right! Everybody in the house say amen! Quote
Retracting Head Ter Ter Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Anyone look at the pics and the name which comes to mind is 'Crusader' ? you mean this? hardly comparable, especially its weaponry. Nah! Not that fugly re-drawn one. Referring to the one in the back of the original box and the one in the 1st print Technical Readout 3025. Quote
Fortress_Maximus Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 if only one the one on the left but realistically I'd get both and the HUMMER version too. Quote
Osean Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 Perhaps the removable missles facilitate the larger chest. Then it must carry some big ass missiles! Quote
