ly000001 Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 I hope Graham or another MW'er from Hong Kong can answer this question: I'm from Canada but I have a HK Permanent ID Card, and my application period for getting the Smart ID Card replacement is coming up. How long should I expect to wait between showing up for the application/interview and picking up the new card? I've heard from a couple of people that they received their new cards the same day, but this page mentions a 10 day wait. Has anyone here gone throught the replacement process, and how long did it take? Quote
Graham Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 I think it took about 2 weeks to get mine, but I don't remember exactly as my year was the first year to get called up, so it's almost a year and a half ago that I got mine. Anyway, check out the HK Immigration Department Smart ID website, I'm sure they have the info there. Graham Quote
ly000001 Posted April 11, 2005 Author Posted April 11, 2005 I've looked around the official website before. Their description of the application process is pretty detailed, except it doesn't say anything time-wise Anyway, thanks for your answer, Graham Quote
