Guest sh002 Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 How would you rate the robot designs on a scale of 1 to 10? Since this is Macross World I'd give Macross designs a 9. I'd give the Transformers movie designs a 5.
Hikuro Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 And I'm sure in a Transformers forum, they'd get a 9 while Macross would get a negative number that would be out of this world. I just don't care about hwo they look anymore cause they're not gonna change it or anything...so I'm learning to live with what we've been given.
Guest sh002 Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 (edited) They wouldn't get a 9 necessarily in a TF forum. Ok with 20+ years of cool robot designs from different series and not only Transformers, I'd give the movie designs a 5. Edited April 7, 2007 by sh002
sabretooth Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 since the new tranformers look is similar to a bunch of poorly executed designs and cut and paste mechanical parts they get a 1 out of 10 because they do transform but not in any way practical or visually appealing.
Chewie Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 New Transformers Movie TV Spot. I am hoping that was just some lag because it's on the net because him saying "My name is Optimus Prime" was nowhere near on cue with his lip movement. I wanted to run from Godzilla. =\ And using movie trailer guy who sounds like Peter Cullen (or is it him?) is probably a bit too much. But overall I am wanting to see this more and more.

Fit For Natalie Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 (edited) EDIT: Unfortunately the video has been taken down off that youtube clone Here's some screencaps http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showthread.php?t=129826 Edited April 14, 2007 by Fit For Natalie
Hikuro Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Ouchies, glad I snagged it before it was taken down.
Chewie Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 It's awesome that every site that had anything to do with this direct linked and didn't snag and upload it themselves. Ugh.
Chewie Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Lips, underneath his face mask. Something quite a few of the primes have had. Didn't surprise me for a second.
wolfx Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Another video link. Peter Cullen doesn't sound like Prime.... http://jalopnik.com/cars/news/transformers...p?autoplay=true
CoryHolmes Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Another video link. Peter Cullen doesn't sound like Prime.... http://jalopnik.com/cars/news/transformers...p?autoplay=true No, he doesn't. It's because 20 years have passed since Prime was last heard and Mr. Cullen's voice has changed just enough to sound different. Like a Prime sound-a-like, it's kinda grating.
Hikuro Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Then you should check out transformersgame.com and watch the behind the scenes movie, then you can tell me if he sounds the same or not cause he sounds exactly the same.
wolfx Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Yeah...cuz he sounds the same in the trailer when he uttered that line "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings" but in the video i posted above sounds kinda raspy...maybe that's cause his face plate is off.
Lord of Tetris Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Yeah...cuz he sounds the same in the trailer when he uttered that line "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings" but in the video i posted above sounds kinda raspy...maybe that's cause his face plate is off. I don't think it's the faceplate being off. I think Cullen's still "got it," but Bay must have used a HELL of a lot of voice processing. The damn thing is, there is SO MUCH voice processing, it's essentially lost the "Cullen"ness of it all. With THAT much processing, you or I could be Optimus Prime and we could make our voices sound like that too.
Prime Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 (edited) It doesn't seem to sound to bad to me. Just deeper. And it is only one line from the film, so who knows if it sounds much different overall... EDIT: If you watch the video at http://transformersgame.com/, Cullen's voice work sounds closer to what I remember. And since it is a game for the film, I assume that his work will be in the same vein for both. Edited April 16, 2007 by Prime
big F Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 jazz O.K Jazz is scaring me now. I just cant picture him looking like that. Maybe it`s cause I still think of him speaking like Scatman Cruthers.
Fit For Natalie Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 (edited) Dunno why he chose the crappier pic of Jazz where he's obscured by Ratchet, though. Here's a better pic: Edited April 16, 2007 by Fit For Natalie
Fit For Natalie Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 yes. Jazz is usually one of the friendlier Autobots.
Guest sh002 Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 The original Decepticon symbol to be used for the movie would have been cool.
azrael Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Hi Res shots of the bots http://www.michaelbay.com/blog/files/d5881...e4ae054-74.html
big F Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 That site has some really interesting stuff. The pictures are good too. Shows that they are thinking about it all. At least the heads look a little G1ish so there is some throwback continuity to the old school days. I have hope for this film now.
wolfx Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 Cool....megatron looks less "alienny" and they fixed his window wiper hands. Starscream has the inverted knee legs. Hmmm...maybe he can have a gerwalk mode?
