Marzan
Riding the Code geass soundtrack wave right now. Nakagawa Koutarou makes some excellent o.s.t's (he also did Planetes) and I love some of the orchestral pieces he did for R2. The songs he composed for Hitomi are pretty cool too. No song has more circulation in my ipod than Madder Sky right now http://www.youtube.c...h?v=kzaLJ0i52UY Just brings back the entire scene with the death of Lelouch. Compelling stuff. Wanzerfan
I've been told that Wanzerfan is a fan of Justin Bieber, so here's a greatest hit from him. I'm a fan of anyone who strangles that teenybopper. Yeah, the SPCA and PETA will hound you down if you do. To qoute Scott Ian Rosenfeld..."F*ck PETA." Mog
Okay, this is probably a MASSIVE long-shot, but does anyone know the artist and song title of the hook at the very beginning of this video? I heard the actual instrumental song about a month ago on a local urban radio station (102.3 KJLH), and it also has a nice horns/brass section mixed in with the beat (not heard in the clip above). Mog
The notes on the video you linked to say, "intro music by George Strompolos." So you have the artist... So, I did a little more digging and found the name of that song/beat by George Strompolos. It's called "With the Punches." (Link to Song) HOWEVER, I think the guy sampled the beat from another song for the following reasons: The song I heard on the radio did NOT have that secondary hook from the 42 seconds to 1:10 mark (the one that sounds like a "time is running out on your video game, hurry up and complete the stage!" theme). The song I heard on the radio also had this blaring trumpets/brass part that counter-pointed beautifully with the rest of that first guitar/bass/drums beat. Although it was primarily an instrumental song (ala "Pick Up the Pieces"), the song also had what sounded like kids screaming or shouting something in unison (like they were out on a playground or something). Like I said, I have a feeling finding the name and title of the original song is gonna be a long-shot.

Wanzerfan
The Doobie Bros. "Listen to the Music Play" (I heard a dance mix of this song a few years ago waiting for my order at Sonic, and I just about went into orbit) "China Grove" (I have yet to visit the San Antonio area) The Highwaymen "The Highwaymen" Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson "Luckenbach, Texas" The Traveling Wilburys "The End of the Line" "Handle With Care" Roy Orbison "Crying" "She's a Mystery to Me" (released posthumously; great song and video) "Oh, Pretty Woman" "You Got It" (another great one; the video was filmed about two weeks before his passing) "Only the Lonely" (very good song; it sounds like the Everly Bros. did the backup vocals) "Dream Baby (How Long Must I Dream)" Some Cliff Burton Metallica "Anesthesia/Pulling Teeth" (Anesthesia was done on one take; I would love to see you guys pull that off) "Ride the Lightning" "Call of Ktulu" (one of their best instrumentals) "Fade to Black" "Metal Militia" "Creeping Death" "Battery" "The Thing That Should Not be" "Orion" (one word: masterful) "Master of Puppets" (excellent title track)
