AchtungMacross Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 Later next month a Blue or Brown Roses Digital Camouflage Strike( haven't decided yet) with all the usual trimmings will go up on this thread. Thanks for your comments, guys! I'll keep on building em! Quote
Grayson72 Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 Hey Achtung, have you considered using the Alclad II metalized lacquers? Really nice paints that have very fine metalic pigments. Kinda expensive though. Quote

ChristopherB Posted April 27, 2005 Author Posted April 27, 2005 Thank you Devin. Your decals are really nice, and made these customs possible. Besides the numerial difference, the customs themselves will be different. I'm referring to the blue hexagon camouflage pattern. Very difficult due to all of the paint/masking required, but Thomas has devised an ingenious method. Quote

AchtungMacross Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 Hey Grayson, never tried the Alclad II Lacquers, I usually go with Metalizers for aluminum finishes. Any better durability on the Alclad's than the 'lizers? As for the complex hex pattern camos, I photoshopped some pics of the similarly camouflaged valks in the custom gallery and sized them to 1/72. After printing out shots of just the wings and the fuselage I traced the edges of the various colors on to clear frisket film and cut them out making a mask. For the individual hex's I glued tiny pieces cut from a razor blade to a hex key to make a punch.I would have just used the method with the hole puncher, but I couldn't find one I could modify. Quote
