shiyao Posted February 26, 2005 Posted February 26, 2005 When the Alternators/Binaltech series came out, I was blown away. Like, seriously. I thought - "THAT'S IT, NO MORE MACROSS FOR ME!" 11 Alternators and 13 Valks later, I'm starting to rethink my original position. The Binalternators have amazing attention to detail and realism, not to mention poseability - for a ridiculously low price (compared to 1/48s). And yet ... I find myself strangely drawn to valks. For one, planes do it for me more than cars. For another, valks are so much more ... streamlined, especially when comparing Robot Modes (because there ain't no "battloid" in Transformers). Just received Meister today (along with the rest - I now have 1-11 of the Alternators, yay!), and he's just about changed my mind though. Man, that toy is *perfection*. Hopefully my YF-19 will get here in time to save me from any further blasphemy.

Or even an equivalent to GERWALK, save the original Jetfire. WE WANT MORE TRIPLE-CHANGERS HASBRO!
EXO Posted February 26, 2005 Posted February 26, 2005 (edited) Macross Toys vs. Binaltech/Alternators Toys, Another pointless debate! (Done before?) no, but versus threads are a no no here because of the fact they are pointless. Edited February 26, 2005 by >EXO<
Fortress_Maximus Posted February 26, 2005 Posted February 26, 2005 IMO there are plenty of pros and cons for collecting both Macross toys and the BT TFs. I like both and I get what I can afford and what I really like. I never want to be a completist, so if I don't buy a entire line and all the different versions, no loss for me. Collect what you really like and can afford and don't worry about focusing on just one series or type. All that matters is you enjoy it, you aren't collecting for anyone else.
eugimon Posted February 26, 2005 Posted February 26, 2005 yup. don't understand this thread.. these two toys are in different groups.. macross yammies are high end collectors toys, limited production runs, alts and binal techs are low cost mass market toys. different markets all together. get both, I do.
GobotFool Posted February 26, 2005 Posted February 26, 2005 Hopefully my YF-19 will get here in time to save me from any further blasphemy. I'm sorry to say the yf-19 is a really disapointing toy, compared to a BT it loses big. Now the 1/48 valks, those are works of art. Still in terms of a price quality ratio, you cannot go wrong with Alternators. Pretty much the same as a BT minus diecast, and at 20 dollars a pop I don't think you can find to much fault with em as a toy line.
