Southpaw Samurai Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 Great points all-around, Poonman! For those of you with fast connections and a curiosity about the film and haven't seen it yet in its limited release, IGN has a preview of the first 24 or so minutes of the movie. Direct link: http://media.filmforce.ign.com/media/670/6...id_1578458.html If that doesn't work because of the age verification they want you to do before hand, here's a link to the selection page: http://media.filmforce.ign.com/media/670/670907/vids_1.html Robert Downey Jr. as a druggie is purely inspired. He brings an intelligent, introspective analysis that while full understanding the flaws of the lifestyle, is not entirely repentent or a crusader against it now. That makes him nearly perfect for the story and his James Barris feels very right by the book in the little I've seen. Quote

gerwalk25 Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 (edited) I found an old example of rotoscoping. Levis with Dacron Edited July 27, 2006 by gerwalk25 Quote
electric indigo Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 If you don't like 90 minutes of rotoscoping, you can try the graphic novel, which is made from film stills and works like a regular comic book. It also helps that you can flip back a few pages and work yourself through the manically twisted plot. http://www.randomhouse.com/pantheon/catalo...n=9780375424021 Quote
Radd Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 You know, I saw this recently and it wasn't bad at all. The visual style worked, the acting was actually a lot of fun, and they actually did not stray too far from the original story. I'd reccomend this movie. Quote
Poonman Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 yeah it was an awesome movie. I saw it twice. basically just an animated novel. most of the lines and scenes were taken word for word out of the book. its the truest rendition of a novel-to-movie i've ever seen. good stuff Quote
wolfx Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 Just saw it. What a head trip. I kinda guessed the ending right away. Pretty sad that i was right though. Anyone think that Frack is dead after he attempted to OD? That was pretty hilarious. This is like watching Trainspotting with some Sci-fi added in. I don't ever wanna do drugs. Quote
Roger Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 Anyone think that Frack is dead after he attempted to OD? That was pretty hilarious. No, because he appears at New Path after Arctor checks in. Quote
