captain america Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 Hi all. I thought I'd chime-in on the topic, since there has been a slight restructuring of my schedule. Long story short, the VF-1J conversion won't commence until early August, as another project I'm currently on is going to take longer than projected. I'm still in for the long-haul; the haul will just take a lil' longer. Quote
kensei Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 That's alright you know. Probably a wise move even if intentional, with the upcoming GBP Armour and the CF, funds are going to be short for most people. But good to know that you are still in. I for one, can wait. BTW, can you colour the parts as they are produced, or do you have to do them by batches? I want to get a couple of different coloured sets you see, and I am wondering if I can cheat a little by substituting CF bodies for the Hikaru VF-1D and Max VF-1J for the Virgin Road. IF that is the case, I will purchase extra CF's! Quote
DatterBoy Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 Captain... However long it takes, I'm all over it. :Dat Quote

Gabe Q Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 Just bumping. Any word on whether this will still happen? Quote
Mechamaniac Posted August 12, 2005 Author Posted August 12, 2005 Yup, still going to happen. Cap is still working on another project, but the latest word was that he still intends to start on it this month. Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 (edited) yeahh we need picturess   327322[/snapback] Knowing the Captn' will get first a rough sculpt and with the second round of pics the conversion kit will almost be finished Edited September 10, 2005 by Ignacio Ocamica Quote
jorawar_b Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 I wonder if you could use this conversion on the 1/48 resin VF-1 strike fighter kit, any ideas? Quote
promethuem5 Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 Doubtful. I'm sure that while they are both 1/48 scale, the fusalage size is slightly different, as will be the fit of all the parts. You'd go mad trying to jam this conversion kit into place most likely.... Quote

We're gonna have to pull 'im from the modelling boys and lock him up. Quote
Majestic Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 Can't wait for this project! I've got a 1/48 DYRL max just waiting for this. Already thinking about new/different VF-1D paint schemes... Quote
valkyrietestpilot Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 if we were lucky enough to have this carry through to a VT-1 & VE-1 conversions, will the same cockpit & canopy developed for this 1D be used in these? .i think the canopy is slightly different on those,as it bubbles out more on the sides as apposed to the 1D with just a regular VF canopy elongated to accomidate the 2nd pilot.would we go as far as to address this minor detail,or just use the 1D style 1 & be happy to have a VT or VE? Quote
fulcy Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 (edited) This was talked about a few pages back - the cockpits are totally different, so the 1D can't be used for the VT or VE Edited September 12, 2005 by fulcy Quote
