I just bought this Transformers book from Japan.

It came in yesterday.

I found something very interesting in the book.

There is a page where i saw Shoji Kawamori's picture on it.

My question, why is he in this Transformers book?!?!

Did he create some Transformers along with Macross Valkyires!?!?

(I know the Jetfire toy was taken from Macross)

Can someone read/translate this page and tell me what it says about Kawamori. Did he make other Transformers besides Jetfire?

It shows Omega Supreme & Shockwave on the side of the page.

Did he design those toys also!?!

it probably has to do with jetfire. Either takara had to as for permission to use the valk design for jetfire, or they are just referring to shoji as being the designer of the VF-1S which takara used to create jetfire. That's just my guess. ;):p:D:lol:

I seem to remember reading somewhere that Shoji Kawamori worked on some of the early designs that eventually wound up as Transformers (not just valkyrie/Jetfire) - however, I cannot confirm this and may well have gotten mixed up with something else.

Edit: I suspect that Omega Supreme and Shockwave are there because they were both originally designs by other companies - like Jetfire - that wound up under the Transformers banner.

Too lazy to read it all, but he's talking about Studio Nue's work on Diaclones as well as their involvement with Takara in creating some of the original TF designs.

I asked a friend who lives in Japan and he e-maile dme this.....

"basically, its an interview.

saying that he had helped out with the diaclones (pg. 124) and the first generation transformers, which paved the way for transformers. Then, he created the Macross valkyries. "
