VF-18S Hornet Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 (edited) A while ago I was super gluing the tips of my gunstrap to my 1A together because it tore (again) somehow along the way to the table it fell off and now it's gone I tried using a vacuum (one of those bagless vacuum cleaners) and turned up nadda. Some I'm wondering if there is anyone who has a spare o-ring available. Edited February 7, 2005 by VF-18S Hornet Quote
Zentrandude Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 i would go the cheapy route like buy a small set of large or medium size staples and bend one of the staples into a ring then paint it black. Quote
brainiac_08 Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 take a medium paperclip, cut a little of it with wirecutters make a circle with needlenose pliers paint it black bada-bing; bada-boom there you have it a replacement o-ring JJ Quote
valkyrietestpilot Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 craft & hobbie stores usually have these little knick-knacks in abundance.check there first.also, most fishing lures use small o-rings like this to attach the hooks to the body of the lure.the drawback to these is that they are a keyring-style ring.you have to fenagle the object on the ring till it reaches the middle & locks in.that might be too much force for delicate plastic parts Quote
valkyrietestpilot Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 i went to the craft store the other day & found these.they are 6mm jump riings & they seem to work perfectly.i could not find them in black though.i actually like them better in the silver color Quote
valkyrietestpilot Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 here's what they look like on the gu-11 gunpod Quote
Renato Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 One of my 1/48s also came without one ring. Don't mind so much because that is the least important piece as far as I'm concerned, but it's the principle.. Oh, Yamato QC, why must thee sucketh so? Quote
aaajin Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 hm...at least yours didnt come with an upside-down back fin (the fin at the back of the gunpod) which means the hole to insert the ring is at the top... Quote
Eternal_D Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 dood, that looks pretty good...gonna have to pick me up to replace my missing ones one of these days. Quote
