Takatoku Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 Here it is, the rarest piece to any collection. The 1/55 Takatoku VF-1D! This vintage item can be found nowhere. It is mint, includes gun pod, instruction sheet, catalog, gun clip, missles on tree, plus two types of heat shields! Actually, this is an all custom job. Paper work including the box, catalog, instruction sheet, stickersheet and the valkyrie are customs. If anyone is interested in a custom vf-1d box I might consider making one or two. I just want to see whether there is interest or not. Let me know plus the amount you will pay. I'm pretty busy, but i'll try to reply as soon as possible. Old school all the way! Takatoku Quote
Takatoku Posted February 5, 2005 Author Posted February 5, 2005 the way it was meant to be. the vf-1d now has a home with its brothers. Quote
Skull Leader Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 (edited) nevermind.... didn't read all the way before I posted...lol. Nice custom. Did you pull the styro from a trashed Takatoku box? or Get it cut brand new? Al and I have been looking for someone to cut some styro for our custom boxes for a while. peter Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 I love the old boxes! Styrofoam is awesome, to hell with the environment! I only wish the 1/48's came in such cool boxes. Quote
hirohawa Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 Takatoku boxes are the best. How much will your boxes run? Quote
yman1437 Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 that's a really cool job...I like the details (e.g. the line-up art on the back of the box) but I really have no idea how much I would pay for it.....hm.... Quote
izzyfcuk Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 I would be interested in one 1D, yeah old skool's the way to go..but i have no clue though as to how much i would pay..but i need one Quote
fansubs2000 Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 If you put that on e-bay, i bet the bidding would SKYROCKET! You could fool a lot of people with those pictures! Looks mint & legit! Quote
Takatoku Posted February 6, 2005 Author Posted February 6, 2005 its actually styrofoam from an old takatoku. The styrofoam is the hardest to custom. don't know where to do it. I love the styrofoam though. box is pretty expensive. at least $50 to make. Man the pictures make the box look kinda purple. ah, whatever....... anyone still interested? (yeah right ) Quote
izzyfcuk Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 What are you planning to do? the box only or the valk as well? Quote
mechatek Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 Totally fresh and awesome! Were you able to get that texture that the original Takatoku boxes have? Quote
Valkfan Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 anyone still interested?(yeah right ) I would say yes, some of us are interested in getting a custom box. However, I think that it would be really cool if you went a step further and created a box for the following valkyries as well. 1) VF-1A Max 2) VF-1A Kakizaki 3) VF-1A Angelbird 4) VF-1A Alaska (might be stretching it here because this one only had one minute of airtime, if that. ) I would say that the first 3 would be a definite must in order to create a complete line of Takatoku SDF Macross boxes. I know that I'd buy one of each. Quote
Valkfan Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 (edited) At least we can see that in this Takatoku ad, they were planning on releasing the VF-1D and Max VF-1A valkyries. Too bad things went the way they did for Takatoku. Edited February 6, 2005 by Valkfan Quote
BoBe-Patt Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 damn that's a freakin awesome custom job!! much props!! I'd love to have one with the valk!! I suck soooo bad at customizing. If the valk came with the box, I'd be all over it! Quote
zeo-mare Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 yes i agree this is a incredible custom you need to do some of the bigger sets as well, like the VF-1s strike valk or elintseeker, i have always wanted one of those in a good condition box chris Quote
Neova Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 Which one is the 2nd on the bottom right? The Alaska 1A? Looks like it. And what about the grey 1J? Quote
Valkfan Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 Which one is the 2nd on the bottom right? The Alaska 1A? Looks like it. And what about the grey 1J? Yes that's the Alaska Base VF-1A and the grey VF-1J is supposed to represent the VF-1J that Hikaru is seen training in while becoming a fighter pilot. Although, I think that GREY is an incorrect color. I've always thought that the VF-1J he flew was a BROWN cannon fodder 1J with some color loss due the age of the animation. Maybe I'll have to view that episode again to see if I'm right. Hey, can anyone get a screen capture of the 1J trainer? Quote

Jasonc Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 I'd be interested in a box. Does it come with the styrofoam? p.m. me back with the details, Takatoku, as I am seriously considering this. Thanks Quote
phatslappy Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 me too! I'd be interested as long as it came with a styro as well. I have my very own custom VF1D to put in it too, although it needs some rework cuz I sucks at customizing. Quote
Valkfan Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 This the picture you want. That's the picture alright. Thanks valk1j! It is clearly a brown 1J, so I'm thinking that the grey one pictured above is in error. Does anyone else remember a scene with a grey VF-1J? I certainly can't. Quote

Valkfan Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 (edited) Who cares! It still looks cool. Agreed, it does look cool. I was just pointing out that it doesn't appear to be an OFFICIAL color scheme from Macross. However, it's nice to see a unique custom paint job that retains a Macross paint scheme, if that makes sense. Edited February 9, 2005 by Valkfan Quote
Dat Pinche Haro! Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 very impressive...i was fooled like everyone else when i first saw this...very very well done...looks just like an original box Quote
Swann Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 Here is one of my beauties. I have her wrapped up in plastic. because it's mint. Right down to the box condition. Quote
