Noriko Takaya Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 The book whose image I have supplied at the bottom looks intriguing to me since I am a big fan of Mikimoto's work. I do not see this book on MW anywhere, so this is why I am asking. Is this book (titled My Time) the same one released by US Renditions as Haruhiko Mikimoto Illustrations? I know the titles are different, but the illustrations for some of the art inside look the same. If anyone has these books, let me know. Quote
BoBe-Patt Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 yeah, I've been looking for that book for quite some time. I've been outbidded on ebay a few times on for that book. If that book is an older version of Mikimoto's Innocence book, then I'd still pick it up as I'm also a mikimoto fan. I actually was able to meet him at the 2000 AX, got him to draw me a sketch of minmay and autograph the outside of my mikimoto illustrations, and then took a picture with him. He was selling off a bunch of his artwork, which I sooo wanted to buy. But they were like 500+ If I had the money and my own house, I'd buy them. Quote
Eternal_D Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 have both books and they are definitely different. there are prints of the same things but My Time has a bunch of original stuff not from Macross, gundam, or orguss. Quote
halfan Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 (edited) I can answer all of your questions about the book. In fact I wrote a short review of it here since there wasn't any mention of it in the MW book section. It's slightly smaller than the HM Illustrations book. If you've seen or have either Movement or Elverz, it's exactly that size. My Time shares several pictures with his other books, but has enough new content to make it worth buying. And in case you are wondering, there are 8 pages dedicated to Gunbuster The bottom link in the review I wrote doesn't work anymore, which is a shame because it was a wonderful resource. My Time was his last true artbook until Innocence came out. He's done a few artbooks for games inbetween that time but they weren't solely his work. Edited February 4, 2005 by halfan Quote
nhyone Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 Here is a copy of My Time on Ebay and that's a darn good price too. It's sold. But the book seems to be shrinked wrapped; they may have more of it. To think I couldn't find it for so long that I jumped at a chance to buy it for US$40. Quote

I was gonna say PM Halfan... he's the resident Mikimoto book specialist, but I see he's already here. Quote

I saw it, and when I got my first few answers I decided to buy it. The eBay auction was the cheapest I've seen this book anywhere, and it is brand new too. And yes, I was interested in it because of the Gunbuster artwork. Thanks guys for your help. Quote
