fernandofaria Posted February 3, 2005 Posted February 3, 2005 Hy guys ....this is my wip sv-51 gerwalk . I called it as a Yes -No project , because YES , I had a lot of fun doing it , but NO , I will not do it again ....ha ha ... I am posting the finished parts , all pinned , and ready for the primer . If you want it , I can post detailed images of the conversion . I hope you like . Quote
Stamen0083 Posted February 3, 2005 Posted February 3, 2005 Hah. That's very cool. Very sensible in keeping it mostly fixed posed, which solves the problem of flop and gigantic, ugly exposed polycaps. Quote
broadshore Posted February 3, 2005 Posted February 3, 2005 Oh dang! Thats going to be a nice gerwalk. Quote
godfather Posted February 3, 2005 Posted February 3, 2005 [Darth Vader] Impressive! Most impressive. [/Darth Vader] Quote

Skypoet Posted February 3, 2005 Posted February 3, 2005 BTW: How did you cut the parts? You seem to have modded the Hase fighter kit. Did you use a dremen? Other? Exacto? Where did you get the joints/articulation from? Great job once again! Quote

AlphaHX Posted February 3, 2005 Posted February 3, 2005 (edited) Thats just awesome. I was never big on the battroid mode for the SV-51 but I definitely liked the fighter and gerwalk mode. I wish hasegawa would make more battroid and some gerwalk models... If you want it , I can post detailed images of the conversion .I hope you like . I want!!! More images!!! Plz take bigger and more detailed images! Oh... and yeah... me like. Edited February 3, 2005 by AlphaHX Quote
striderhiryu Posted February 3, 2005 Posted February 3, 2005 so beautifull.... so sleek.... this model inspires me... to do a battroid one. one question. can you make a list of the parts you used for the arms and where did you bought them? this is the only tricky part i need to solve to make a battroid SV-51. Quote
nightmareB4macross Posted February 3, 2005 Posted February 3, 2005 FF, Why not just leave it "as is" it would look as a "low viz" type valk. It could even pass as a protoype of the SV-51 flown in the series. Simply Magnificent! Quote
Grayson72 Posted February 3, 2005 Posted February 3, 2005 Wow that looks very sweet, excellent job, thanks for sharing. Quote
fernandofaria Posted February 3, 2005 Author Posted February 3, 2005 Ok . thank you guys . Here is some images from the fisrt step of the conversion . This is the parts break down . It was the most dificult part , because the shoulder ,the base of the wing , and part of the leg are the same piece . And , of course , every cut had to be done in the up and botton sides of the mais body. For cutting , I basicaly used a tamiya scriber , and a surgical scapel. The arms and Knee , I took from a gundam kit , the HG The O . The hand and elbow , came from and old grifon labor kit . There is lots of wave detail parts , and evergreen plastic too . Oh , and it take me about 50 hours ( in two weeks) to complete the conversion . The only reference material that I had , was the picts from the macros zero web site . So , I hope its acurate enough Quote
NoSuchFile Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 I'd tell ya just how awsome the job you did is, but right now i have to pick my jaw off the floor Quote
Graham Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 Fantastic work. So are you going to paint it in Nora, Ivanof or cannon-fodder colors? Graham Quote
fernandofaria Posted February 4, 2005 Author Posted February 4, 2005 Hi Grahan. I will finish it as the ivanov machine . Here is the original image that inspired me to do the conversion. Quote
Yohsho Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 I bow down to your amazing work. That's awesome. Quote

Major Johnathan Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 Well my pathetic dial-up connection can't handle all the pics, but I've seen enough to say great job Fernandofaria! That is a hard conversion, especially with so little line art to refrence. Quote
zeo-mare Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 wow i am impressed big time by your skills. chris Quote
Less than Super Ostrich Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 (edited) simply amazing. how did you use the scriber saw to cut the plastic? that seems like it would take forever. thanks for the pics! Edited February 4, 2005 by Less than Super Ostrich Quote
fernandofaria Posted February 4, 2005 Author Posted February 4, 2005 simply amazing. how did you use the scriber saw to cut the plastic? that seems like it would take forever. thanks for the pics! I used the lines on the plastic as a guide for the scriber. Remember that the plastic for this macross zero serie , is Very soft . So , the cuting is very easy . but you have to take care to do not cut to much . After the primary scribing , I used the scapel to do the final cut .... that's it . Quote
