To know that the gov't & industrial corporations have attempted to do this for warfare or industry over the past 30 yrs in one form or the other is captivating & novel... To know that various individuals & entrepreneur groups have attempted to do this for the last 20 yrs after growing up on Gundam, Macross and assorted other anime, is inspiring and entertaining.... To kNoW that gov't, industrial co.s, entrepreneurs and small town individuals are still trying, but with the last 30 yrs mistakes to learn from & last 10yrs tech innovations to back 'em...thats friggin AWESOME! We learned to fly because we just kept dreaming it could be done. We WILL have mechs because we just HAVE to see ourselves stomping/thrust-vectoring around, blowing s%*t up that we just built in zero gee, 5 mi. long and 3 million tonnes! Quote

It would be impossible with current tecnology to make armor strong and light enough to protect it and due to it's upright nature the armor couldn't be sloped enough to deflect the rocket. I think the stuff the military's messing with is more akin to the power-lifter thing from Aliens. Quote

I think the stuff the military's messing with is more akin to the power-lifter thing from Aliens. actualy a new style of "Bolt On" armor has been developed by a canadian man that can withstand a dirrect hit from an explosion with the force of a standard RPG-7 round. the armor tested was reminicant of a Couch coushin and is soft armor, but it was straped to a car door and was fired at, all that happend was the door was dented and the "Bag" remainded intact. said armor was alsi fired at with several small arms from handguns up to an M82A1 "Light Fifty" .50 call rifle. and no round managed to penatrate the "Bag" Quote

How much weight does it add and how many repeated or multiple silmultaneious impacts can it withstand? RPGs are super cheap and easy to deploy is mass numbers. Even a retard could figure out how to fire one. Quote
