Has anyone gotten the re-release of Akira at all??

Read on Collector's Freak that the pleather on the v.1 version red suit is crumbling apart as this re-release version might be made of the same material if your located in a high humidity/very damp part of the world. 

Edit: Found a review on Youtube in Japanese (Anyone wants to translate for those non-japanese speaking?)

I'm not sure since I don't look like that when I'm disappointed. Hahaha!  

But as far as disappointed Asian dad look, then I can agree that's how they look disappointed in front of other people and not in front of his family.

HT did Enter the Dragon on Lee, and Enterbay did one of him as Kato on Green Hornet. 

I'm sure there are kit bashes than you can make of Bruce @JetJockey.

The Engineers are the only thing the movie has.  Do you mean the more alien looking, giant space jockeys would have been better?

I wish Hot Toys would give us 1/6 Visitor Shocktroopers. No-one is doing that piece of 80's pop culture.

I didn't know Hot Toys made a Bruce Lee figure. That was probably before I got into Hot Toys. I think I saved a few images of the Enterbay version a while back. But they never released Green Hornet. I would like both of them.

I don't think anyone thought the Space Jockey Alien in the original movie was a giant humanoid in a suit. I kind of liked the Engineer's angry at humanity angle. But the thing with the Engineers basically worshiping the Alien was where they lost me.

I think my original thought or theory about the Space Jockey Alien was that he/she/it was taking all those Alien eggs away to some unknown planet. Away from civilization. I need to watch Alien again to be sure. But the Space Jockey Alien is infected by the facehugger because his chest is exploded. And there was the warning not to come near the planet. So I thought he was a good guy.

I did recently see Planet of the Vampires. I thought that was an interesting sci-fi tale.

Funny you mention V, I posted on MFC about wanting Diana and Lydia as bishoujo figures from Kotobukiya.

Prometheus is full of bizarre and inexplicable things - like taking off your helmet in an alien biosphere just because the air is breathable.

Possibly the Engineers are the humanoids we see in HR Giger's Alien artbook.

My thinking on the aliens and the Spacejockey (back in the 80's) was that the aliens were a bioweapon that the Spacejockey's had engineered, and the derelict was on it's way to deploy them somewhere in a war. But things went wrong, he got facehugged and crashed.

It turns out that this was not a uniquely held theory.

Where my idea was unique is that, having seen John Carpenter's the Thing prior to Aliens, I fantheorised the Thing as the other side's bioweapon.

The xenomorphs  being a bioweapon kind of explained why they had acid blood (as a counter to being taken over), why their reproductive cycle was so odd, and why they were being stored in the Derelict.

The Derelict's warning was an alien signal probably intended only for his own kind. That wouldn't make him benevolent.

I was waiting for Hot Toys to do more Aliens characters. Doesn't seem like it's going to happen.

I've seen that site before though. They come up with some good customs.
