Gakken85 Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Finally got this guy today: Took awhile.. but I got him from a local guy who saved me about $150 bucks. haha Quote
Ahab Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 I built this Wing Tsun prop for a client who's making a series of short films (stop motion) in 1/6 scale. I know its not entirely on topic, but thanks for lookin! -Ahab Quote
Gakken85 Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Looks cool. Did you sand the wood and all? Quote
Ahab Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Most of it was sanded completely smooth (with the exception of the verticle supports which I left rough to simulate re-sawn lumber. The entire piece was then detailed with a rigid wire sculpting tool to create the wood grain. The bare wood was then sprayed with an earthy orange laquer followed by acrylic washes and satin top coat. -ahab Quote
Gakken85 Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Nice job Ahab. You should sell those to Joe fans Finally got the whole gang together!!! Nerd-gasm over here Quote

Gakken85 Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 I think the 02 is the best release of the three so far. More bang for your buck haha. Quote
anime52k8 Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Unlicensed 1/6 killzone 3 figures? why not. Fingers crossed they don't get sued into oblivion before they get around to the helghast sniper. That's a badass design. http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIG-KAI-6187&page=top Quote
Gakken85 Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 (edited) Found these. Some of the best looking hot toys images I've ever seen. Almost makes me want to get a Hulk.. but I can't get over those giant shoulder creases haha. Edited October 20, 2013 by Gakken85 Quote
JetJockey Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 I don't know why Hot Toys hides the joints/seams on some figures and doesn't on others. It's like they don't want people to forget that they are making figures. I've seen many photos where if you didn't know what you were looking at, you would think you are looking at a photo of a person. The Bale and Keaton Batman figures in particular. Quote
anime52k8 Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 It's balancing look with possibility. On that hulk, they could make the entire upper body including arms and hands one big piece but then you would have no rotational movement at the shoulders or wrists. the batman suits are more conducive to hiding the joints and still being flexible because of their design and materials (compared to something that's supposed to look like bare skin anyways). BTW, looks like Hot Toys has followed Sideshow in regards to pricing on hulking armors: http://www.sideshowtoy.com/collectibles/marvel-iron-man-igor-mark-xxxviii-hot-toys-902129/ Quote
EXO Posted October 22, 2013 Author Posted October 22, 2013 That's one uncomfortable suit if Tony ever planned on putting that on. Quote
Gakken85 Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 Looks silly. Who wants a giant blue iron man? I'd much rather have Jim Raynor Quote
Valkyrie Hunter D Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 Sideshow Toys now has my full attention: "Call Me Snake." Quote

EXO Posted November 24, 2013 Author Posted November 24, 2013 Those three pictures are better than Man Of Steel movie... Quote
Gakken85 Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Haha. Man of Steel has some big problems, but it's grown on me a bit as far as something fun to watch. I hope they will make up for it in the superman/batman movie. But yeah.. 80's Superman is the best!! Quote
Kanedas Bike Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 In case anyone is interested, Sideshow just put up for pre-order a limited edition Iron Man Mark XXI - Midas. This was initially an overseas convention exclusive with some pretty ridiculous prices on eBay. http://www.sideshowtoy.com/collectibles/marvel-iron-man-mark-xxi-midas-hot-toys-902134/ Get it while the getting is good! -b. Gakken85 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I snagged one around 1:30. Amazed it's still up. They must have a few thousand. Quote
Gakken85 Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Got my Hulk out last night and took off his underpants None of the online pictures really do him justice. When you pick him up and feel the weight, see the dark green color, and the face sculpt close up... it's massively impressive. I did a quick mod on my detolf with some wire ubolt clamps and raise my bottom shelf up enough to get him in. I also loooove the clicky ratchet joints in his elbows. Quote
Gakken85 Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 (edited) Woot, just got the last DX-13 at Amiami for $250. Seems to be selling out at $313 before shipping at other places. With my black getters I should get it well below $300. Edited December 16, 2013 by Gakken85 Quote
skullmilitia Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Did Hot Toys finally fix the wrists in regards to IM so he can actually hold his palm at 90 degrees? That was one if the reasons I sold off my War Machine and Mk3. I'll come back if they did. Looks like they're making a IM3 War Machine 6th scale. I'm all over that. Quote
