Mule Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 Are those CG models? Really nice looking either way. Quote
cobywan Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 A prime example of how the nicest and modt well crafted CG work is still not mistakeable for physical models. Great work! Quote
Gabe Q Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 A prime example of how the nicest and modt well crafted CG work is still not mistakeable for physical models. Do you remember this thread? He had a lot of people fooled. I had to change pants after I saw that thing. Rodavan's Q-Rau Quote
NERV Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 indeed, the rendering is just as important as the model itself, his red q-rau and at one point the glaug were both rendered in a rashion that was so close to real the only way u cud tell it was fake was cuz there was no seam lines Quote
cobywan Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 The biggest cue for CGI in these pictures are the textures on the bases. That and they are too perfetctly reflective. Mapping some scratches and scuffs and toning down the gloss would help imensely. Quote
f91 Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 Very cool anyway. Makes me want to paint my Q-rau lime green. Quote

Rodavan Posted January 13, 2005 Author Posted January 13, 2005 Thanks - all I will be adding scratches and dents soon , maybe then it will be perfect ......... one day. Cobywan - I remeber , that you had access to a cnc machine some time ago , is this still the case ? These are very detailed surface models that could be used to cut a cheap mould ? Quote
Mule Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 (edited) Yeah, it was the reflections that did it for me too. Tone down the reflections on the shiny parts and add some subtle imperfections and things will look much better. Edited January 13, 2005 by Mule Quote
