Penguin Posted September 18, 2003 Posted September 18, 2003 Well, this isn't really Macross-related, but I figured I'd ask the model experts here anyway. I just picked up an old model kit on eBay, and part of the kit includes a curved metal arm (for those interested, it's the old MPC kit of V.I.N.CENT from "The Black Hole"). The arm, however, is a little rusty after 24 years in a box. Any advice on how to spruce this up? I was just planning on sanding down the rust and painting it, but I really don't know how the oxidization affects paint (acrylic or enamel), et al. Can anyone offer any other tips or suggestions? Thanks to all. Quote
Valkyrie Posted September 18, 2003 Posted September 18, 2003 If you have the means, snadblasting would be the best way to go. And the next best would probably be a wire brush. And I don't know for certain which, if any paints would cause oxidation. But to be sure, you could always just use Rustoleum as your primer Quote
