do not disturb Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 while this sort of belongs in the auction section i figured it would probably get more attention here. i dont' know if you guys have noticed, but whats up with all the orguss toys on ebay lately? is there some newly designed ones coming out? or are people just cashing out? mods, if you feel this is the wrong section for this, please feel free to move it. Myriad Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 Those toys are cool but fragile as hell. I have not heard of any new Orguss toys. People are probably cashing out. Quote
Graham Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 It would be cool to see some new Orguss toys, but I can't see it happening, unless the great champion of obscure licenses (Yamato) decides to pick up the license. Graham Quote
Noriko Takaya Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 Hell, I would be happy just to get a complete set of Orguss on DVD with decent subs. But the toys are cool though. Quote
do not disturb Posted December 15, 2004 Author Posted December 15, 2004 cool, i thought there were some new toys coming out or something. i've seen dozens upon dozens of orguss auctions and that generally means that there something new on the horizon. yamato? making orguss toys? eh, you never know? Sumdumgai Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 If they make a toy of the Orguss 2 from Orguss 2, then I'm sold. Otherwise meh... I'm not a great fan of the original Orguss. Quote
F-ZeroOne Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 (edited) Christmas is coming... I also got the impression that Orguss toys appear to be relatively common finds in Japan. Not exactly everyday items, but with the exception of things like the "Olsen Special" (sp?) they seemed reasonably easy to come across, at least in Tokyo. Edited December 16, 2004 by F-ZeroOne Quote
Guppy Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 I have been ebay window shopping for a 1/40 Orgroid for years. They are just a bit pricey for my sensible tastes. haha.. me, sensible. Quote
Feyd-Rautha Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 all i'm seeing is a couple kikicks,ishkiks...no orgoids.. Quote
Graham Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 Takatoku Orgoids are fairly easy to find here in HK in the shops that specialise in vintage toys. I can think of 2 or 3 shops that have them. Of course they are not cheap though. I've been thinking of buying one of these for years now, but the reported fragility puts me off. I just wish I'd bought some when I came to HK in 1986 as they were still selling everywhere then for original retail price or less . Graham Quote
Valkyrie Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 If they make a toy of the Orguss 2 from Orguss 2, then I'm sold. Otherwise meh... I'm not a great fan of the original Orguss. Actually, I just snagged an original 1/72 Orguss II resin kit by Wave on Ebay last week. It's pretty damn cool! Lots of parts, great detail, and even a small sheet of awesome photo-etch detail parts! And 4 pages of design art in the instruction book! (Wave always does that -- very cool of them ) Orguss II auction It's a fully posable kit when finished, but it's not transformable. But it looks like it can be modified to be built in Flyer mode without TOO much dificulty. It even comes with the four wings for the legs and shoulders, even though they aren't usually deployed in Orgoid mode. But as far as I know, this kit is the only physical incarnation of the Orguss II that was ever made Quote
