Ghost in the Shell 2 in Calgary

I'm very surprised, but pleasantly so, that Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence is playing at one of the independant theatres here in Calgary. The Uptown Stage and Screen has 9:45 showings Friday's to Thursday and matinees at 12:30 on Saturday and Sunday.

Yeah, I was reading the Sun(local newspaper) when I came across a blurb about it, then I checked the movie listing, and was very pleased about it being played here.

I'm trying hard as hell to see it, but funds seem to be lacking for this month. I hope it stays until Jan.

At least it made me in a great mood for the rest of my shift.

Depending upon how well the film does, other cities in Canada might do the same. Though to be honest, I find it very strange that Ottawa isn't showing it. Alberta isn't exactly known for progressive support of the arts. I assumed most of the other major eastern cities would be playing it before us.
