Ichijoey Posted December 8, 2004 Posted December 8, 2004 Question here, I *think* I remember an old Macross toy from my childhood. It was a !HUGE! SDF1 that they had hanging from the cieling at a comic shop in the mid 80's. I have tried to find out more info on the web but have come up dry. I don't know if it was a real toy or something that the shop built, I just remember that it was bigger than I was! Does anyone know about anything like this or was it a custom job? Or did it just seem huge because I was only 10? Quote
Radd Posted December 8, 2004 Posted December 8, 2004 I believe there was a huge, promotional cardboard Macross. I think someone posted pictures of it here long ago. Quote
eugimon Posted December 8, 2004 Posted December 8, 2004 was it a promo item? I have a memory of this thing as well... I wanna say it was like 3 feet long.... would love to see a picture/and/or clarification. Quote
ewilen Posted December 8, 2004 Posted December 8, 2004 There was a large 3' cardboard (nontransforming) Macross. It wasn't a promotional item. It comes up on eBay from time to time, and in threads here as well. A picture of it can be found at the Valkyrie Factory. Quote
Totoro242 Posted December 9, 2004 Posted December 9, 2004 The picture on the right, is this what you are talking about? Quote
Panzer Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 holy crap.. i'm intimidated by that thing. now i really feel sorry for the zentradis... Quote
Ichijoey Posted December 11, 2004 Author Posted December 11, 2004 Yeah, I think that's it! Thanks. Now where to find one. Quote
ewilen Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 There's one on eBay right now if you have the cash. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...me=STRK:MEWA:IT Quote
Ido Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 One Dyrl Macross in attack mode like that would be spectacular. Quote
Mechamaniac Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 There's one on eBay right now if you have the cash.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...me=STRK:MEWA:IT Holy crap, that thing went for $330.00? If you dig cardboard that much, you could just make one yourself out of some old boxes. It's not like it's very accurate. Fools and their money man... Quote
Skull00 Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 I got a kick out of the transcript off the back of the box. Apparantly the SDF-1 has a full complement of Alpha and Beta fighters!! Cool! Quote
