Graham Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Surprised nobody has posted this yet, but page 148 of the new January issue of Hobby Japan magazine features a small black and white CG lineart pic of the upcoming Yamato 1/48 GBP armour. No price is mentioned and the release date shows sometime in 2005. Perhaps Renato or one of the other MW members who read Japanese can translate the text. If nobody else has posted the pic by the time I get home tonight, then I will scan it and post it. Oh, and my guess is from the length of the groin armor in the pic, it looks like it will be necessary to remove the nosecone to fit the armor. Graham Quote
robokochan Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Wow awesome news Graham! I havent read mine yet so I didn't even know. Rob mN Quote
zeo-mare Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 this is great news this is the one thing i have been really wanting it looks like Yamato has us covered for next year as well with Macross stuff. please somebody post pics. Quote
baronv Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 D'oh! Armor for the 1/48, I thought it would never happen. Quote
Smiley424 Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Huzzah!!!! This is what I've been waiting for . Time to pick up that non-fp 1/48 VF-1J I've been putting off. Or maybe I should get the reissue VF-1S Roy. Either way, I'm definately getting the 1/48 GBP, no doubt about that. Quote
1 VF-1 2NV Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Cool. Can't wait for it . I, for one, will surely buy quadruplets...at least . Quote
Radd Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 If it does not come with a Valk, this will be my excuse to buy a 1/48th VF-1J. Quote
Toonz Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 i just pee in my pants! this is really good news! ha! and my reissue focker will be waiting for it! but i guess also that yamato will do a valk+GBP set Quote
Nitrous Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Can I ask for a scan of the pic? Thanks Quote
Bariaburu Faita Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 a January issue in November? Due to the tilt of the earths axis, and the fact that Japan is much further north than most of the posters on macrossworld, the angle of the earths surface relative to the equator reduces the amount of ambient light that hits the surface. So the suns warming rays have a greatly reduced effect. Thus there is a "international season line" that you have to take into account. This is why many anime magazines have a 3month lead relative to magazines published closer to the equator. Quote
buddhafabio Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 it will be better in quality but it will also have the same faults as the 1/60 Quote
Graham Posted November 23, 2004 Author Posted November 23, 2004 Here's the pic of the 1/48 GBP from the latest issue of Hobby Japan magazine. Notice the text also mentions something about the VF-0S. I'm guessing it says either: - The 1/48 GBP is designed by the same company that did the VF-0S (I hope not)! The 1/48 GBP will come after the VF-0S. The VF-0S has been cancelled!!! Hopefully somebody can translate the text. Graham Quote
BlueMax Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Damn Cool! This is a real MUST HAVE!!! Quote
Myersjessee Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Now thats the best news I have heard in a long time! Quote
zeo-mare Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 holy crap it looks awesome. i hope the missle's in the GBP can be taken out like the ones on the fast packs, i just think the detail would be far better especially for customizers. i do not like the ones that are built in. i cannot wait for this to come out. Quote
kensei Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 looks like a takatoku gbp Except waaaaayyyyyy more awesome detail. Told you guys that the 1/48 version of the GBP would come out sooner or later. Quote
scand Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 HOT DIZAMMMMM! That's some really sweet news. Hopefully this one will be posable! Quote
Chuey Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Crap, now I need to buy another 1/48 valkyrie. Quote
Ido Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Ok, so the rumor about the GBP in 2005 were true. Now, where are the YF-19 FP and the 1/60 Monster? Looks good Quote
wolfx Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Looks like it can still accomodate the nosecone. Quote
DemonPlay Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 another must have toy for my bookshelf Quote
F360° Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 ,, ok,, just one more,, only just one more and i'll stop. Quote
Magnus Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Given how heavy my 1/48 is with the Fast Packs on, this sucker will weigh a ton Better order a couple of backpack hinge recasts..... Quote
007-vf1 Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 this is a very welcome news. I hope it doesn't stay on the "just a project" stasis and becomes a reality.. Btw; I haven't seen the 1/48 VE-1's or Ostrich convertions anywhere, what's going on?? Quote
Dangard Ace Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Now we just have to hope that Yamato makes enough to cover Kensei, SITHLORD, and Godzilla...because after those three the rest of us *MIGHT* be able to get some. Quote
newca Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 GREAT! thanks Graham~ but I didn't see any text about VF-0S has been cancelled?! I didn't read Japanese, but I DO read Chinese characters in those text, nothing really important. "We introduced 1/100 VF-0S in last issue, now have some news about 1/48 VFs......GBP will be sold separately, release date to be 2005 spring......wait for our next issue for more news...." Gotta prepare some BIG money! Quote
JoLe727 Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Finally!!! Dream comes true!!! (Looking at my wallet) It's time to recharge my wallet. Quote
Jawjaw Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Drawings do nothing for me. We already knew Yamato was working on this. Until I see a prototype, it's nothing more than a yf19fp. Quote
Montarvillois Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Now let the release date speculation games begin ! That's the type of news this board needed to get kick started. I am honestly "mucho mucho" excited. Quote
3.14 Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Great news...now if they could just design it so parts don't pop off evey time you touch it! Quote
JB0 Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 GAH! They drew it on a 1A! I realize they've made more 1As than everything else combined, making it the most prolific VF to use as a base, but they couldn't use something with a nice-looking head anyways? Quote
