glane21 Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 (edited) I picked up a few of these on discount due to their bad hipjoint press. None of mine have busted yet and they're good customs fodder. Here's my Skull type, still have to do the tail fins though. *updated with tail fins done* Edited December 7, 2004 by glane21 Quote
Mechamaniac Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 Sweet! I have always wanted to do a custom Skull Squadron out of VF-11B's! I envisioned mine with the black accent striping being replaced with the color of each of the Skull team members. Good to see I'm not the only VF-11B lover out here... Quote
rocco_77 Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 That looks cool! Is their a reason you didn't paint the main part of the plane white? Quote
glane21 Posted November 22, 2004 Author Posted November 22, 2004 That looks cool!Is their a reason you didn't paint the main part of the plane white? Yeah, it would probably look better white but I have a bad time trying to get white paint to come out well, especially on such a large amount of the plane. Also, it's still transformable and the white areas would just get chipped up badly. All the areas I made black are 'transform-friendly'. Plus the original Takatoku skull was grey too! Quote
Sebastian Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Very nice scheme. Me likes! Hummmm I may just copy your idea. hehehe any pic in Bat mode? Quote
wolfx Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Thanks, here's Battroid: Great work! Love it! Quote
Jawjaw Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 That's rad! It will look even better with proper painted tailwings. I've been tempted to try a vf-11b myself. I have an extra MIB version1 that I doubt will ever be worth anything. Quote
zeo-mare Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 very nice you should do something about the eye on it though (it looks kinda funny) maybe paint it a different color green i painted mine a shiny red. I never though about customizing it like yours....I wish i did Quote
goldenboy_forever Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Wow looks awsome I actually can't wait for a member here to finish his custom armor for the yamato vf-11b if anyone can still remember a year ago I wonder if he finished? great job From Rich Quote

But I would say it is 95% done, just need to find some time to finish it. Quote

pfunk Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Very, Very NICE I like it better then the original paint scheme Quote
Spiff Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 The skull squadron paint scheme came out really cool, I may have to paint up my VF-11 that way when I get the full armor set done. Great work! Quote
eugimon Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 great job! hmm, almost makes me wanna pick up one of those... Quote
Legend of TSXer Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 Great job man! Looks SWEET! I wish I had one of those!! Quote
aaajin Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 great... looks really good in battroid mode...can you please post more pics in battroid mode.....this sure deserve a place in the MW custom toys section Quote
halfan Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 As much as I hate the toy itself I love that paint job. Have you thought of making a VFX custom? It's not shown in this picture, but the tailfins do have skulls on them. Quote
Godzilla Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 The VF-11 is by far the least fav toy but the scheme looks good on it I have to admit. Quote
glane21 Posted December 7, 2004 Author Posted December 7, 2004 Updated original pic with tailfins and decals on. Quote
Wheels Posted December 8, 2004 Posted December 8, 2004 (edited) Very nicely done. You've made a okay Valk into a cool one. I think the red "eye" color ups the cool factor as well. Yes I know it was done by another member , but it does add to it. Edited December 8, 2004 by Wheels Quote
