DatterBoy Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 Did a keyword search in the pinned thread, didn't see anything so... Just got my 1/60 Super O. Backpack is floppy as hell, is it supposed to be like this. The original 1/60's had semi lock on 2 points, to the backplate and to the backpack via that in between piece. The part that connects to teh backplate locks solid, but the other connection, not only does not lock, but slides and allows tilt from side to side. Is it supposed to be like this? :Dat Quote
Max Jenius Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 I don't think so... then again... my Super Ostrich is either in Gerwalk or Fighter mode. Quote
minny Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 yeh, my baby has this problem too... but i also only hav it in ger or valk mode for show hehe blutak? lolz Quote
Nitrous Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 Hi ya For the Super O and Elint, the backpack does not clip backwards like the normal 1/60 valks. U'll need to slide the backpack until it locks (but becareful though, else it will break). Check out MW's page for the review, a brief explanation was given about the backpack. Review for VE and VT Quote
minny Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 (edited) thx Nitrous! also... if your havin trouble gettin the chest plate to interlock with the heat shield, make sure you have the landing gear down. ... this wasn't explained on the reference page that Nitrous gave us hehe just in case u didn't know about it, it's part of the process for the 60 scale. ohh an it does mention it in the jap manual ... in jap lol. minny Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 actually u better change that about the landing gear needing to be down when sliding the chest plate duntcha think guyz? Quote
DatterBoy Posted November 5, 2004 Author Posted November 5, 2004 Thanks guys. After I wrote the first thread, I decided to bust the sucker open and see if something wasn't broken.... looked good, so I began to think it was an engineering flaw. After tinkering around a bit, I realized what we have been already told here, the backpack has to be repositioned and pushed back to lock in place... weird.. but very stable, even more so than the older 1/60s. Thanks again all. :Dat Quote
DatterBoy Posted November 5, 2004 Author Posted November 5, 2004 And yes, I did have problems getting the chestplate to slide down, took more force than the older 1/60s.. What's the deal with that? :Dat Quote
minny Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 u still need to wiggle it a little but u NEED the landing gear down. trust me dunt worry it's very sturdy but u still need to apply a little force and it's nigh on impossible with the landing gear up. Quote
do not disturb Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 you can always take apart the chest plate for the VE and VT and bend the metal glide plate a bit. thats what i did and i no longer have to lowerer the LG's or force anything, it TFs smooth. Quote
Just Gundam Posted November 6, 2004 Posted November 6, 2004 The chest plate will slide easily if you slightly push the inner metal piece into the body and at the same slide it down, works for me every time. Quote
minny Posted November 6, 2004 Posted November 6, 2004 yeh thats what i do hehe... but with the gear down Quote
