Umm, yah. No real surprise given they want to make a live-action movie out of the license.

The only mildly surprising thing is that Spielberg is involved. I'm tempted to mail him a few copies of Land Before Time, to remind him that he CAN work in animation.

This sounds slightly better

Catwoman scribe to adapt Transformers

Catwoman scribe John Rogers has been tasked to write the screenplay for a Transformers big-screen adaptation, Variety reports.

The live-action movie, a DreamWorks/Paramount project is based on the popular Hasbro toys. It will likely be a franchise property.

Rogers will adapt from a story written by Tom DeSanto, executive producer of the two X-Men films. The movie is slated for a Summer 2006 release.
