I should have my pair of these bad boy in on Valentine's day.

Seriously, I wish I had a partner that was as romantic as yours.

My girl paid some money down on them so I dare say you are correct.

;)

Wow. I wish I can find a girl that would do that for me. :(

My gf paid for a good majority of my Macross kits actually... resins and all. Nothing says "I love you" better than a few hundred dollars worth of Macross resin model kits. ;):p

Agreed.

Ahem....have they got any sisters?:ph34r:

I haven't put any stickers on mine yet, either. I'm waiting for an excellent fanmade sticker set. I might cave in and use some from my Takatoys 1/48 sticker sets and make my own 'eye' stickers if that doesn't happen.

I've made a few observations on the VB-6 and thought I'd share them:

For all of the parts that are not proportionally correct to the lineart, the rail gun cannons are not among them.

The dark army drab green color of the Yamato toy isn't very accurate to either of the 2 colors variants pictured in the game. The Monster with the yellow shoulders is more of a redish-brown color and has the white eyeball decals. The inside of the intakes on both the shoulders and wings/legs are red. As it's been mentioned before, the Monster in the opening movie has 3 red stripes on the arms.

The lighter grayish-tan Monster has red shoulders and yellow eyeball decals. This is the color used in game. I'm not sure but I'd have to check, the 2 enemy monsters may be the redish brown color. I remember them being darker in color.

The valkyrie models in game were given around 1000 polygons which I think is quite generous for the time. What isn't very apparent from the lineart is that the rail gun does not attach to the upper torso/chest portion of the body. It could be rotated perhaps 30 degrees and be fired in destroid mode. In game, the rail gun can only be used in gerwalk mode however.

As many times as I've played the game I never did hear a name or designation for the Raven's transport vessel.

I just got my Konig Moster also, finally. I am deciding whether to open it or buy another to open. A little short on cash at this time after sacraficing for a G5 to do more freelance work.

How the heck are you guys able to buy all this stuff? That Godzilla with over 60 1/48s! Sheesh!

Got mine today. Woahhoh mate.. this thing is sweet.

No problems with the stress marks yet. Just be careful to those that are about to transform theirs. on the previous page, the transformation page is highly recommended if you don't want to break your Monster right away.

I don't think that the leg attachemnts are on backwards at all. Although I agree that they should be more secure, you have to hook the leg up to the catch, and then pull back. This will provide the most secre locking position.

Sorry gotta go! My task now is to learn how to transform my Monster off by heart.

Does anyone know how to tighten up those rivet joints? My bloody left arm is loose.

I wrap a tidbit of paper around the rivets and slide it back into place. Just remember to keep the paper small enough (1cm x 0.5cm)...

you know, everyones friggin left arm is loose on this toy. <_<

i took apart the arm(the 1 screw in the bicep), put a thin layer of clear nail polish on the peg and its nice and tight now. :)

Mine is.... just enough to not be able to stay in a upright position, but not loose and saggy like YF-21 hips... I love it to death tho... the 1/48 sticker sheet by Takatoys provides almost everything you could possibly need....

Ya know what's annoying. I was just looking at my old pics of the 1/60 Destroid Monster prototype and the eyes are actually sculpted onto the toy. It's a pity that the same thing was not done with the VB-6 :( .

I'm not going to show the whole pic, in case I get into trouble, but here's a small partial pic so you can see what I mean.

What sort of trouble could you get into?? They'd have to first of all begin speaking to you for that to happen!

Hey cheers Haterist!

You're very talented with that nail polish of your's. :D Like the RMS missiles, can that be the solution to all loose plastic toy parts?

I second that.

What would you loose by showing it to us ? Would they stop talking to you or sending you more prototypes ? oh wait ! they´ve already done that

Come on Graham , it isn´t like you´re betraying them specially when they´ve left you uninformed for so long , if they actually cared about the info and material you´ve got they would just simply take it off your hands, besides, by this time that info is probably too outdated in ragards to their actual proyects now , so I don´t think it won´tl make much of a difference to Yamato

I think all of this back and forth about showing or not showing the pictures is entirely dependent on whether or not Yamato made Graham sign a confidentiality agreement when he was in the loop. If a CA was signed than Graham would do well to keep whatever information he has to himself, lest he open himself to some breach of contract litigation. However, if no such document is in play Graham can divulge away all he knows; unless, of course, if he has some vestige of hope of ever being brought back into Yamato's fold, or if he has some sense of propriety towards Yamato that prohibits him, on a moral level, from perpetrating a breach of confidence with his former contacts, regardless of how shabbily he may have been treated...in which case it comes down to the old "can you live with yourself" dilemma.

Graham, do what you think is right. But if at all possible, post away...we're too weak to stop begging.:D

i would say that Graham shold just keep those pics to himself... not for Yamato's sake, but it just opens up a whole can of worms here in the forums... if it comes out then it'll come out...

clear nail polish works miracles for small pesky pieces that need a little grip. :)

heres some other stuff i've used...

"shoe-goo" for the hips on a 1/48. its actually to fix holes in shoes but i found when that black rubber piece wears out, this stuff is a miracle worker cause its rubbery, it dries clear, you can peel it off when it wears out and it doesn't damage the plastic.

"elmers glue" for the loose mini-missiles or anything else i want glue but not forever. it dries semi clear, you can just fleck it off when you're done, and it does absolutely no damage to plastic.

Got mine from Valk Exchange on the 15th as well.

No problems at all on mine even the arm holes and the back pegs

are A-OK on mine. Even the paint is pretty much perfect.

Thanks Kevin for coming through like an ace once again.

Oh and BROTHA is large, you guys were right, this bastard is huge!

Just one more question if you don't mind Haterist, what is the percentage of acetone, if at all, of your nail polish? I just remembered that the active ingredient in nail polish is acetone and that dissolves plastic to the point where you can smear it.

yup, did the same to both arms on my vb-6... otherwise it was a floppy mess.

just don't spend a lot of time pushing the polish around, one thin coat and let it dry...

Sorry to bump but.

My Monster has gone limp! :(

I've had mine in Gerwalk Mode for the last couple of weeks. So. I take her out of the display case to fiddle around with. ONE TOUCH and the arms fall flat........it seems the elbow joints are REAL loose.

Geez, you just couldn't resist, could you, Graham? :p:lol:

okay so i got a sort of half ass solution to the floppy wings in bomber mode....

you know the "ankle section" of the monster where you have to slide the piece down towards the feet and then it clicks into place. well slide that part down but don't let it click until you fit the clip/catch piece into the hole, then click in down.

check, the pic and you'll see what i'm talking about.

now granted the legs/wings will have gaps showing the inside but the wings stay locked in tight. not much of a solution but it works.

Okay guys I can finally join this thread thanks to neova

for the lucky people who has a un glued missle launcher on the arm cannon you can fix it really easily. Take out the six screws that is holding the arm cannon together. Than you can see that there is a little screw that holds the missle launcher and the peg together all you need to do is lossen up the screw than the missle launcher can be pulled in and out of the arm cannon. Very easy It took me 5 min to fix the arms. Presto instant missle launcher on the arms. It just seem during production that they screwed the pegs too tight to the missle launcher so you can't pull it down fully. It looks tight now I'm lovin every bit of my monster. That little fix adds so much more detail on the monster especially in shuttle mode :)

why is it that this toy gets no love?

it came out, people got them, then the excitment quickly weithered away. we still talk about VF's to no end but the konig doesn't seem to have the same mojo or get the same TLC.

has anyone done anything in the ways of mods? or new paint schemes?

Posted

I'm still waiting for a fanmade sticker sheet. Of course, I haven't looked to see how similar the stickers are, maybe all I need are the "eyes". Unfortunately, my Konig and every other Macross toy I own is packed away until I move in a couple weeks. I really can't wait to break them out again.

I wouldn't say the Konig gets no love. I absolutely adore mine, it's definitely my current favourite toy. Like I've said before, if they released it in an alternate colour scheme I'd most likely pick up another one.
