briscojr84 Posted September 16, 2003 Posted September 16, 2003 Anybody know what happened to the VFX2 Visual guide thread in the book review forum. Quote
SuperOstrich Posted September 16, 2003 Posted September 16, 2003 Sure it wasn't in the old forums? Quote
briscojr84 Posted September 16, 2003 Author Posted September 16, 2003 Nope, I just replied to it myself a few days ago when someone asked about the book and I gave a break down of it's contents. Quote
Agent ONE Posted September 16, 2003 Posted September 16, 2003 If something is posted in the review section and it isn't really a review in a traditional sense of the word, it usually gets canned. Quote
SuperOstrich Posted September 16, 2003 Posted September 16, 2003 That would probably be why. The review forums are for permanent reviews of Macross items. If you just want to mention something small about a book, video, etc, it goes in the Movies and TV Series forum. Quote
briscojr84 Posted September 16, 2003 Author Posted September 16, 2003 (edited) What would be considered a full blown review then. Accidently hit send button. Here is pretty much what I did as an example Pages 1-4 Covers Such and such an item I also gave a comment on how I would rate the book and my opinion of it. I'm not trying to argue a point I'm just curious to know what a full blown review would cover. Edited September 16, 2003 by briscojr84 Quote
Roy Focker Posted September 16, 2003 Posted September 16, 2003 Bingo. That was the reason why it was nuked. Look at Area's Seven Anime views or better yet read a news paper for book or movie reviews. It isn't a short couple of sentences saying I think this is neat. A review is good length, well written paragraph or two about your opinion of "X". It should be something that we would want to save for all of history to see. A review is something that can stand on it's own without someone starting it off by asking what is your opinion of "X". briscojr84 Posted September 17, 2003 Author Posted September 17, 2003 Maybe you guys should put a pinned guidelines thread in there then. Quote
