astromanED Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 Super sweet. I like the smudged panel lines it gives the model a realistic feel. When I was stationed on a carrier ALL the planes were leaking something and wisked rearward, except for the CAG plane his was in good shape. did you achieve this with pastels or in your panel wash? Quote
viperbite Posted October 30, 2004 Author Posted October 30, 2004 ...did you achieve this with pastels or in your panel wash? Yes, I used the pastels to achieve that. I think it's easier to control with pastels than with enamel wash and usually the final effect would also be better. Quote
viperbite Posted October 31, 2004 Author Posted October 31, 2004 I was trying to make a VF-31 Tomcatters' VF-0B, but the decal of "felix the cat" I booked was not arrived, pity. Quote
Pat S Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 Looks reeeeeallly nice! Can you describe the painting process really quick? I really would like to know the steps you use. Not asking for super detail, just a quick synopsis. Quote

viperbite Posted October 31, 2004 Author Posted October 31, 2004 ...Can you describe the painting process really quick? I really would like to know the steps you use. Not asking for super detail, just a quick synopsis. Of course, first I airbrushed the model with GSI Mr. Color Super White then I used TAMIYA tape to masked the white area so that I can paint the rest which I want to be painted as black, red or grey. Then I washed the model just around reticles with enamel paint. Finally, I used the Pastels to achieve smudged panel lines. Quote
