Hi guys! :)

I apologize if this was asked here before. It's been a while since I last posted here. I also tried the search feature but nothing came out so I guess it's safe to post this question...I hope...

I was just wondering, shouldn't the VF-0B be classified as the VF-0D instead since it's a two seater and more ressembles the VF-0S?

VF-0B

The VF-0D on the other hand looks different than the VF-0S in terms of it's wings.

My method of thinking is based on the VF-1A & VF-1D ;)

As an afterthough...is there a "D" variant that's not a two seater? Are all "D" variant's two seaters?

Any comments?

The only other -D variants I've found, looking through the Compendium, are the VF-17D (1 crew) and VF-11D (2 crew). There are several 2 crew models that don't get the -D designation (some of them are trainers).

The VF-0B may or may not be canon. Hasegawa has made the kit, but the designation doesn't appear in the Compendium, and so far no one has spotted one in Macross Zero.

But...there's some chances of -0B become a official, there's a model of him.

It happened with the VF-3000 (anyway, this toy it was a prototype for nova project).

Please see the entry for the VF-0.

There are 2-seat versions for the VF-0A, which is what the VF-0B from Hasagawa is (until otherwise noted).

VF-17D is not a 2-seater.

I agree, the compendium says there are 2-seat versions of the VF-0A. In other threads, people have said that they think the entry will change to show a VF-0B. But right now, we just don't know. For one thing, as is pointed out around here, the VF-0B doesn't have the same head as the VF-0A. (Also look here.) It seems probable that Kawamori will ratify the Hasegawa design--it's no skin off his nose, really. But there hasn't been any official word yet.

i don't feel like the designations really have to do with anything...i mean isn't the 0D basically just a high-performance version of the VF-0 line? well you have to also put in that they're totally different planes and the designations were made before (timeline wise) to the SDF tv series...if you think about it, it doesn't really matter if it's cannon or not...it's the creator's series...they could do whatever they want with it
