newca Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 I wonder if this is a 3 in 1 kit? Untransformable? any opinions? thanks~ Quote
Dat Pinche Haro! Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 as far as i know the only transformable kit is the 1/48 model legioss i think this kit is meant to be built into any of the 3 modes, like you assumed earlier Quote
Hikuro Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 I know in some cases they'll have parts to assemble all 3 models but its nontransformable. Quote
Feyd-Rautha Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 it's 3 seperate models in each of the 3 modes ...nice sculpts too..but not very posable! Quote
Kin Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 Are you sure? watching the side of the box, an image in soldiermode with missile unit attached to the left shoulder. That's very common in the transformable kit. Quote
Cyclone Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 The pictures on the side of the box also show us a Armo-Fighter mode that looks wonderful, unlike the 1/48. Imai included missile pod with this Armo-Soldier kit too. Quote
nightmareB4macross Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 (edited) I'm pretty sure it is a transformable kit, after all it does state "variable" on the box. Edited October 27, 2004 by nightmareB4macross Quote
neptunesurvey Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 It is not the variable kit. It is a 3 in 1 kit: 1 is a fighter, 1 an armo diver, and 1 an armo soldier. Its not a bad kit. Very limited posability but not badly detailed. Quote
newca Posted October 27, 2004 Author Posted October 27, 2004 thank you all~~ I also found some information indicate it's a non-transform 3 in 1 kit. what do you think 1/48 then? any metal parts for joints? perfect transform or plug-and-play? Quote
Cyclone Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 what do you think 1/48 then? any metal parts for joints? perfect transform or plug-and-play? The 1/48 is a kit of it's time, is the best way to put it. It has metal shoulder joints, but the hips are plastic and thus a weak-point during frequent movement/transformation. It does has a 'perfect' no parts needed to be removed transformation... but the Legioss of the series relies upon a bit of anime magic for it's transformation, with parts compressing to a degree physically impossible in a model, so Imai had to fudge and balance the proportions so some modes look better than others, the nose hanging down too far in Armo-Soldier and the legs not compressing enough in Armo-Fighter. That's what we're refering to where the 3-in-1 kits look nicer overall, closer to the mecha as seen on the series. Cyc Quote
Kin Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 Ah... now I remember... it's the 1/48 that were variable... stupid me Quote
