Hi again guys!!! Here is an up date on my VF-1D ... I did some pre shading, but not too much really thinking that this is a trainer aircraft:

I need now to do some touch ups!!

Opinions are welcome!!

That looks really good so far. The colors look spot on and the pre-shading is very subtle. A question on the pre-shading: do you just spray the lines with black or dark brown first and then spray the orange color over it? I seem to lose all the color underneath when I spray the top coat. :(

I first spray black or dark grey, depending on what you want your model to look like, then I set my airbrush to minimum pressure to paint over the black, starting in the center of each panel and then move closer to the panel lines.

Very nice job! I'm in the process of building the "D" version as well but the one from the wedding episode! I might put some pics up later.

Keep it up,

Chris

Thanks!!!! I`d really like to see your work too.

What orange are you using? I'm having problems getting the color right.

neptunesurvey:

It`s a mix of Humbrol gloss orange nª 18 and Testors flat yellow nª 1169 (small jar). The instruction says to do a mix of 70% of orange plus 30% of yellow, but I actually did 2/3 of orange and 1/3 of yellow.
