David Hingtgen Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Kinda late to reply though--Garoquel hasn't been seen on the forums for years. Quote
Wolfman Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Nope, got a PM from him on April 15th. So he's still around. Quote
Lindem Herz Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 (edited) Just for the kicks, and since I don't think Garoquel will be posting any more warbirds here any time soon, here's a P-40 by the great late Glen Angus, from his Victory Gals Series. Edited April 17, 2008 by Lindem Herz Quote
Warmaker Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Can't go wrong with shark mouthed P-40's. I know it's late in reply but I never saw this thread before. In the second post made, there's a Corsair with 3 victory markings. 2 Japanese, 1 German. Did any US Corsair units ever fight against Germany? I'm wagering the remote chance that it did occur, it would be a USN formation. Quote
garoquel Posted April 18, 2008 Author Posted April 18, 2008 Actually its not a matter of unit but of personel since there where navy pilots that served early on in the european teather and later were transfered to the pacific it also happened with the airforce. Quote
David Hingtgen Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Ok, that's weird, because prior to just a few days ago, it says he hadn't been here since 2006. Is he psychic and knew people were discussing this thread and came back? Or maybe the forum's just wrong. Quote
Fatalist Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 (edited) That is an awesome picture Lindem Herz!! Love it! Where can I get more? I need new wallpaper. Edited April 18, 2008 by Fatalist Quote
Lindem Herz Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 That is an awesome picture Lindem Herz!! Love it! Where can I get more? I need new wallpaper. Glen Angus CG Portfolio <- Home of the entire Victory Gal series. My personal favorites are the Zero and the Spitfire. Be sure to check out his memorial at CG Society, too. He truly was a great guy. buddhafabio Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 (edited) Glen Agnus was a genius with cg art...was too soon . the air force has some good pieces on its site also http://www.af.mil/art/index.asp?galleryID=106 Edited April 19, 2008 by buddhafabio Quote
Max Jenius Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 (edited) Just for the kicks, and since I don't think Garoquel will be posting any more warbirds here any time soon, here's a P-40 by the great late Glen Angus, from his Victory Gals Series. My grandfather flew P-40s in WW2. That's an awesome pic! Here's a person he flew with in the 75th Fighter Squadron, Don Lopez, who was a deputy director for the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum for years. I got to meet him and go "backstage" at the A&SM, which was a neat homie hookup benefit. He just died last month, which sucks. Edited April 20, 2008 by Max Jenius Quote
