Gentlemen if I may ask:

If I were in the market for a Supermarine Spitfire (Mk Ia/IIa/V) in one of a larger scale (1/32, 1/48, 1/24, ...1/1? ;))

Are there any, and if yes, what are the better models out there? (No kits, I've been sucking at modeling ever since working with clay in Kindergarten )

Probably the easiest to get right now would be the Hobby Master Spitfire in 1/48 scale.  You can check out the entire lineup here : http://hobbymastercollector.com/1-48Spitfire.html

Some of them are long OOP.  However, a new Mk.V Spitfire is due to be released in January. You can pre-order it here: https://www.flyingmule.com/products/HM-HA7850

or here: http://www.aikensairplanes.com/spitfire-mk-v-raf-no-303-polish-sqn-en951-jan-zumbach-raf/

Hobby Master diecast models are generally pretty good for the price.

Other alternative is the old Franklin Mint Armour models (also in 1/48 scale). Don't know the quality of those models though.

Yep. Looking forward to the Fulcrum, even suggested they do a Cold War Soviet scheme. I’d buy that and a DDR version no problem.

They're also working on a P-38, 109G, 190D, and SBD, all in 1/48.

Those are so cool! If they are all in scale, wow, never knew the F-117 was such a beast! Also didn't know the F-35 was that much smaller than the Raptor.

The three are from Hachette.  Everything else is as well except the F-117, one F-15, and the Fokker.

All of my 1/100 diecast aircraft so far.

With those F-14's ...you should have a mandatory A6M zero in there ;)

I’ll try to get one in 1/100 scale.

Anyone know of a diecast (or even finished plastic) J7W1?

I'm a fan of Canard aircraft, and have wanted to get one. I did buy a Sanka MkB from Sky Crawlers, but it's not quite the same.

Yes, DeAgostini Japan released one in diecast in 1/72 scale. However, since it is currently OOP, it commands a crazy premium.

Hachette also released one in diecast in 1/87 scale. This was is more readily available but it's in a odd scale.

I think 1/87 is HO railroad scale?  What's funny is I think the HMRs generally skew closer to that than 1/100 anyway.

DeAgostini is reissuing the J7M very soon now. I think it’s number 100 in the range.

I only ever got an HM F-22.  Wish someone would do an F-23A EMD

Question: anyone know a good store to buy DeAgostini planes from in the US?

If you're looking for a physical store I've seen diecast planes in exactly two stores since I've been collecting; both were gift shops at aviation museums.

For online stores The Flying Mule has pretty much whatever you want as far as diecast aircraft go and I'm pretty sure they're California based. https://www.flyingmule.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?CAT_TYP=&CAT_OPR=&CAT_RNG=CAT_RNG_DSP_AIR_DAC&CAT_SCL=&CAT_DPT=&CAT_USR=+&x=45&y=10&Store_Code=AV&Screen=SRCH&Search=CAT_RNG_DSP_AIR_DAC++

Ah, I didn't see DeAgostini on the sidebar, so I didn't think Flying Mule carried them.

Just to note, the majority of the deAgostini models at TheFlyingMule.com are from deAgostini's "JASDF Collection" series (which has ended). There's another series called the "World War II Masterpiece Collection". This series is still running and concentrates on WWII aircraft. Also, the models in this series are all 1/72 scale. The listing for it here: https://deagostini.jp/ww2/cmc.php?from=1&to=10

Congrats! I don't have that Ukranian camo version, but from the Russian ones I do have, I can say Hobby Master makes superb Flankers.

Yes they do. I have several of their Flanker family models.

longshot, but this might be the best place to ask.

for a few years now, i've been looking for this pair of 1/144 Su-33, part of a series "Aviation Fighters" made by a company named s14. their website s14avfs.com is now up for sale, but they've just released an AC-130 Spooky this july. so they're probably still alive and just moved somewhere i couldn't find. appreciate any leads.

by the way, they also just released a nice looking display stand that might work with HMR and the Tomytec Gimix Macross stuff.

Interesting display stand. At first I thought it was a carrier deck cutout, then maybe a circuit board. Now I dunno exactly what it is. But it does look cool.

Speaking of Sukhois, after many months, my first Calibre Wings Su-24 finally arrived.

The Aviation Fighters and the stand are in 1/144 scale.

May work with Tomytecs, but may not with HMRs since the HMRs are 1/100ish (1/90ish, per Jenius iirc).

Then again, a 1/100 HMR VF-1 maybe the same size as a regular 1/144 F-14.

Don't know for sure since I don't have any 1/144 aircraft... :unknw:

S14's website is here: http://s14.shop-pro.jp/

The Sukhois are long out of print.

The AC-130 was available at top-gun.jp until just a few days ago. I managed to get one myself. There's one on Ebay right now.  The price is very high but close to what you'd have to pay if you were using a proxy buyer in Japan.

If you're thinking about getting S14's Tomcats models, be aware that they are slightly off-scale.
